Come on. There were masses of problems with selection, formation, motivation, adapting.
It's always the one we haven't got that will turn things. That used to be Sheaf until he played....

I’m with you.

Said a few weeks ago I’d never forgive them if he got sacked. Believe this is almost completely down to some sort of player influence. Fuck them.

So gutted, fed up and completely out of love with CCFC at the moment. This is total shit. There are certain players I want gone from this club.

5-0 Sunderland, bring it on.

The issue last night as no movement up front, he would of had the same issue Sheaf and Eccles had.

If anyone wants to pinpoint where it started going wrong it was when he left. If we want left field give him the job.

Haha. I don’t think the ads on here would even cover the server fees for Grendels spreadsheet.

At this point last season we had 15 points. So how have the results the players have picked up this season led to a sacking, but last season the same number of points didn't?

It looks to me like the players - few of whom have known Robins for much longer than a year - have lost confidence in his ability to get us to where we need to go. Unlike past squads, they owe him very little and there is clearly a lot more potential out there than MR was getting out of them.

I don't really know what to think about it all. For me Robins strengths are his man management and player development, culminating in small, successful, over-performing squads. Whereas in game tactics and speed to react to things unfolding on the pitch has always been something of a weakness.

This season felt to me that with the new structure, and all the extra coaches and players, that he had much less daily interaction at an individual level, which neutered his strengths and in turn exposed his weaknesses even more on a matchday. Now maybe I've wildly misread the situation but, if not, something was going to have to give.
I'm guessing it wasn't Robins decision to bring in this structure and if not then his demise is not down to him but to a set of circumstances he was ultimately not in control of .

I agree with you.

Let’s be honest, if we had a manager that didn’t have the ‘credit in the bank’, the knives would’ve out sooner.

Looking at the ‘Robins in or out’ polls a lot of people defending Robins (including myself) was based on loyalty and performances ‘not being that bad’. I’ve accepted that Robins was one of the only managers I’d have stuck with in the circumstances. Most managers would’ve been sacked a few games ago.

100% but Robins has receipts for when he's turned it around in the past.

How long do you think our now massively entitled fanbase is going to give a new manager? Especially now, DK has reinforced the belief we should be in the playoffs at all times. My bet is that over the next 5-10 seasons we average a manager every 12-18 months.

I hope Grendel has Uber One, with the amount of taxis he'll be calling every couple of games.

If you take out the emotional side of things, and past achievements.

The performances and results post January last season have been poor (discounting the Leeds, Wolves & Man U games from last season, 2 of which were in the cup).

This season has continued the trend of last. We've played well in 2 full matches this campaign (Luton, & Boro, but were still 0-2 at half time in the former).
We have been as bad as I've ever seen under Robins in several games this season (Stoke, Leeds, Derby, QPR come to mind). We've lost 4 at home already.
All of this, combined with the most investment in the club and players we've seen in decades.

I reckon, things started to crack with the O'Hare situation last season, back from a long term injury, in fine form, and then dropped. Lawrence leaving, then Viveash, and a bizarre summer transfer window, failing to sign players in key positions, and overloading the squad in other areas.

The next manager is possibly the biggest decision this club has had to make in its history.

There's a talented squad here, but most will want out by the summer if we don't go up (MVE, Wright, Sheaf)..

Posters like Grundel have got what they want, but will end up spending the next few seasons complaining even more than they have been up to this point.

I haven't read all the previous stuff so apologies if this has been said but anyway....

I'm assuming those who sacked Robins think that we, Coventry City , are punching below our weight. We've had a poor start but given where Robins has taken us and all the shite he has had to put up with I think he of all people can be forgiven for one indifferent season even though it's still fairly early on .

It begs the question as to where our owner thinks we should be as a club. Ultimately of course we all want to be in the premier league but I'd like to enjoy the journey , quite frankly . When we get there well be there for the likes of the big 5 , nothing else.

I'm shocked by this. The managerial merry go round begins now and it'll become a revolving door just like most other clubs.

I hope Robins has success wherever he goes. He saved this club from oblivion in a way unmatched by any other manager in our history and I will always remember that until my dying day.
