The perfect PR machine don't get things wrong. It must be SISU fault. It can be the only answer surely. It was all down to Fisher.Much as I don't want to give any money to our insect landlords I needed to be in Brum by 6pm yesterday so decided to book the official car park so I could get away quickly.
Booked in to A. Arrived at 2pm and got in via number plate recognition drove round the car park a bit, as others were, looking for a non existent space. Eventually a steward came over and said there was no spaces and to go to car park B, ignoring the question of how there can be no spaces when a booking has been made in advance.
So drive round to B, or attempt to, only to be stopped by a Wasps employee saying the access to B is closed. I asked him if it was full and he said there was lots of spaces but Paul Cook, the stadium safety officer, had decided nobody was allowed to drive round there.
Was then told to go to D, which until yesterday I didn't know existed. That involved going out of the stadium and back in. Got back to the entrance to be told D was full. The steward there declared 'Cookie has fucked it up again' and when I asked him why the pre-booked spaces weren't reserved he said 'happens every week, there's no organisation'. Advised me to send in a complaint but then said 'they'll ignore it if you do'.
After much chatter on his radio got sent over the road to C. Drove round to there and was asked for the parking voucher I had been given when turned away from the other car parks, slight problem as I hadn't been given one. More radioing and eventually got let in. Managed to get to my seat just as the game kicked off.
How can anyone make such a mess of something so simple. If you've got a car park with 500 spaces and you've sold 400 in advance surely common sense tells you only sell 100 on the day. If you've got a car park that requires people to drive down the side of the stadium then have queue management that keeps that area free.
This all seems to be really basic stuff. How do they get it so wrong?

I wasn't happy but no point going off on the stewards. They made it pretty clear this happens regularly and any complaints get ignored.Your tale of woe got me fucking raging - shades of Michael Douglas in Falling Down.

Find an Event / Glide ParkingI'm thinking of booking a space for Saturday in Car Park C. Can you still do this online?
For the Lincoln game, I was late arriving and rather than hunt around for street parking I just drove straight into car park C. Paid a tenner to the attendant, walked through the subway (3 mins) the ground. On the way out it was less than 40 seconds from getting into my car to driving out up to the traffic light. Was at the Ricoh roundabout within a couple of minutes. Couldn't fault it - the only time I've done it.
Is there any reason to think I couldn't do the same on Saturday i.e just rock up without pre-booking?
Yeah, we park there a lot, through the subway and you're at the ground. I only pre-booked as I think it may be busy. I haven't a clue what the attendance will be though. Have the club stated any sales figures so far? Didn't the tickets go on general sale today?

It will be full. The Lincoln game I was late and they wouldn’t let me in even though there were spaces.
It was a farce - there was nowhere to park and the other car park said no. In the end I went back to car park A and just told the bloke to take the money - he did and let me in.
Sorry to trouble you Torch but please send me a link to the webpage where you can pre-book parking? Had a look on the Ricoh Arena website and can't find the page. Ditto on the CCFC webpage. Thanks in advance.
