If you don’t put the ball in the opponent’s net you can’t win.
12.30 kick offs are still shit.
Cov City are always about the NEXT window.
Nobody is safe from instant assassination in football, you do or die.
We’re all hopelessly addicted though.

I reckon we're not too far away from players having their own individual walk-on music. They've tried sneaking it in at the club world cup so that's another load of horseshit that'll catch on soon enough

The first half shown that with a full strength squad that we create chances for our forwards. BTA also fought to create his own, but his touch was poor, his lack of strength for a strong looking guy was giving the ref reason to wave off potential fouls against him and his below par finishing meant we got nothing from it. All fart and no . Needing a striker was the stand out yesterday not the defence. Midfield looks great for now though.

I don’t know. Loads of balls into the box yesterday. Surely any forward would welcome this service. Bottom line is they are not good enough.

The crossing wasn't just poor, it also took far too long to get the ball delivered, both Sakamoto and EMC were guilty on numerous times of dwelling on the ball when a quick delivery would of caused Hull more problems, we always need to take 5 or 6 touches when 1 or 2 is all that's required.

All seems a bit too Wrestlemania for a country that's naturally a bit more reserved. Although saying that, I'm now picturing Jamie Allen coming on as a late sub swinging a steel chair so I'm back on board again

Just finished watching the EFL highlights. Pretty much every goal from open play was from quick direct play and counter attacks, I can't remember one from a headed cross from open play (but I may be wrong), and there were certainly no goals that appeared to be following slow possession with most of the defensive team behind the ball like how we are trying to play.

Everything we do is so slow and ponderous.

The problem with our crossing is neither can go outside and cross it for players running in.

Yeah the few goals what were scored from low crosses / cut backs were from the byline on the run and before the defence has got set.

Very poor going forward, thout BTA was a pest at times but as usual couldn't do anything with the ball.

Haji came on and did the same but with less energy. Looked like a new born Giraffe on the ball.

Players going for each other's ball, taking the ball off each other. Think Totp was lined up and someone took the ball from him in 2nd half.

Putting BTA up top alone and booting the ball the the far post (again) and expecting something to happen vs the 7 foot mutants they had as CBs.

Thought we looked more solid defensively but there were still the odd heart in mouth moment.

Overall, bit of a flat performance, lots of huff and no puff. This quietened down the crowd and then in turn stopped the performance on pitch improving.

Also, there's some unbelievable fanny at the football in the summer.

We seen the philosophy of FL and his coaches last season and it hasn't changed. Thought performance was ok and a bounce of the ball or a decision went our way the result changes opinion on performance.

Thought we were solid when set, thought we created enough to win the game.

Negatives
Sheaf injury.
When we are not set we have to scramble to defend. Any breaks its luck or poor decisions by the opposition is normally how we get away with not conceding a goal.
We need a FW, BTA is an impact player and one that can help if we get ahead.

Positives
Rushworth is an upgrade.
Brau showed up well.
Grimes is still a player.
Tatsu looks like he is getting back to the player we love.
Milan still wears Sky Blue.
Wright gets more minutes
Decent bench but can be strengthened.

As for showing appreciation of ex players its a personal decision. Me it depends on the player, i would show appreciation to those i think have been and are respectful to the club and fans Those i think haven't id stay quiet, its fuel to the fire for those players who get shit for pay back.

I didn't boo or clap either of them but ultimately people don't like how O'Hare went on a free. Even Palmer made us a few quid.

He tried to shotgun the club to give him a new deal as he’d found someone to pay more. Robins said there’s no point in keeping him due to his attitude if he didn’t get his own way.

At Hull he said the manager who was sacked created his own problems by not playing him. He even moaned that the training sessions were extended and he wasn’t allowed to leave early and that restricted time with his family.

If that’s the type you think is a good player and a decent guy then good for you

I don't mind giving old players a little wave and clap or whatever but not while they're in the process of diving to win free kicks against us or about to take a corner for the opposition.

If we draw Arsenal in the cup it's a coin flip as to which set of fans would celebrate Gyokeres' hat-trick more

Did he? O'hare joined on a free and left on a free. Kasey Palmer signed for about £1.5m and left for about £1.5m. We didn't make or lose money on either of them.

Yeah, same.

I see no problem giving them some applause when they come on etc. But then once the ball is in play, that should be the end of it, as far as I am concerned.

Our build up play was way too slow, having everyone back for corners doesn't allow a counter attack. So there was never any pace to any of the attacks which allows defender's time to turn and face the ball coming.

We were the better team but lack of cutting edge. Sharpness - scuffed shots from edge of the box etc that will improve. BTA not the answer - one in the second half where he mis-controlled a ball in the box and the chance had gone. But hit the post, had the one from sakamoto go just wide, couple of rudoni efforts so on another day we could have nicked it. Second half was bitty - their injuries, heat, match fitness meant there wasn't a constant push. But overall clean sheet and hopefully a couple of new faces this week.

and yet our form post christmas was top 3-4....so it worked. I wouldn't underestimate how the constant switching of play tires opponents out - hence a lot of late goals. I think yesterday the second half was too stop start so it was hard to build that momentum. Interestingly that horseshoe tactic of coming back out and switching across is one that has been analysed in relation to arsenal last season - they now appear to be looking for more direct options (Gyokeres) to complement that - I would imagine that's one of the profiles we're looking for upfront to balance things up (there were a number of direct balls up to BTA yesterday). Rudoni picks up nice gaps to the right or left of centre - I think if he had a forward he could play off (receive and pass the ball) that tactic becomes even more impactful.

Whilst you can see why Palmer would want to move but he still has nearly 12 months left so plenty of time to be offered one. For me I read this and I don't see why our fans would see him as a hero.

Asked by CoventryLive to explain Palmer’s transfer for an undisclosed fee, the manager said: “That wasn’t our doing, that was forced through by the player and his agent. He’s in the last year of his contract. With Kasey you understand that as soon as you don’t offer him a new contract, and I wasn’t in a position to offer him a new contract, you know what he’s likely to do and how he’s likely to be. And there’s no point having him.

You have done a lot of research into this it seems. I didn't know any of that. I also don't care. I don't spend time looking up the behaviours of players who have left and how they reponded to training at their next club.

I support the club and the players we have, if they leave I may follow their careers a bit and generally hope they do well.

You spend a good amount of time reading this forum waiting until someone mentions one of the players you don't like and pouncing on the message. You did it with Jay Dasilva last year and Palmer the year before. I remember you having a go at me every time I was positive about Max Biamou a few years ago. You don't like it when other people have a positive view of your current pet-hate player. I take a generally positive attitude to football, I want our players to do well. I am happy when a player who has been in poor form plays well and returns to form. We're all different of course and I don't really mind what you think about me clapping an ex-player that you don't like.

Thing with our crosses - particularly the low cut back ones - are that you can look at it one of two ways.
Either they were put into the areas where there was no-one - I.e the runs/forwards weren’t picked out or there’s one less striker to pick out.
Or they were put in the right positions and the players weren’t making the right runs.
In my view it’s the former.

I haven't posted on here in a while but to those saying O'Hare left on a free, he didn't cost us anything.
We should also remember he helped us win a league and get promoted to the championship, how much is that worth to the club.
You may remember him wearing a blue wig and dancing around singing about the city going up.
Booing him while giving Palmer a round of applause is daft.
