Not had time to read the forum so apologies if I'm repeating things already mentioned:

1) thought the response team had a massively increased presence but it was folk in the new (jury's out) away shirt.

2) Never seen so many people sat in the safe standing as there were at the start of the 2nd half, even when we started the 2nd 45 on the front foot they didnt get up, was really weird.

3) opening game, big expectation, 29k, we've come a long way, but can we stop all this nonsense about extending the ground, we definitely don't need it

4) round of applause for Kasey Palmer, fucking weird to say the least.

5) liked the midfield configuration, not sure how it will work away and thought Lampard might bring captain shitebag back in next week but that's not going to happen now so be interesting to see how it works our

Forget buying another centre half, a striker and a winger. king get your purse out and go rescue Hamer. We have missed someone who can put that defence splitting pass or go past a player in midfield since he left and that what we are missing

The crossing today was dreadful, doesn’t matter who’s up front when the quality of delivery isn’t there

A good #9 can time a run to make a "bad" cross a chance- worthy cross.
We done have a good one

Posted this on another thread;
Agree about Haji off the left - he's far better there.
Disagree with original poster about a new forward having the same impact.
Neither Wright/Simms/BTA have a strikers/finishers instinct or a natural positional sense that a good #9 has. None of them can time runs into the box and none of them are a "static" handful (eg -able to be strong and hold off an opponent in the challenge/with back to goal/off a direct ball)
A good #9 is needed to suit our style of play.

Our forwards don't suit our system.
Don't think the necessary changes will happen this window but it needs to be the focus of the next one.

We miss how deadly Matty Godden was. BTA needs 400 shots to get 2 goals, Matt needed 1 or 2

What terrible experience did Palmer have?

I appreciated some of his skills and maverick nature of his style of play. However, he was hardly the consummate professional and struggled with the “being an athlete” part of his job, which is like, the main part…

We backed him well, he moved on, we moved on, ridiculous reason to say we should have clapped him today.
