Yes 100%. They’ll also announce a tour in the USA at some point. They’ve only announced these so far to get as much money out of people as possible.

See that this tweet has been community noted

Trying to take the moral high ground and make out they’re on the fans side but allowed Ticketmaster to enable dynamic pricing which is only enabled with the artists consent.

Nice, thanks. I think I’d prefer a cheeky trip to Europe given how the atmosphere will be but either side of the pond and I’m in

I'm told they've book Wembley for 10 nights so I think you might be.

Trying to by tickets was an ordeal, reminded me of trying to get tickets for Southampton away in the FA cup back in 22.

Just seen this, and it's made me feel a million times better about missing out

As I think it will a lot of people. It's pretty small print at the bottom, but it states they are being kept apart completely other than being on stage

That's surely alarm bells all over

Deep Purples Ian gillan and Ritchie Blackmore refused to be in the same studio when they recorded one album - on their tour they had to stand apart and never spoke a word

I had to go out on a stag do yesterday afternoon in Pompey. Whilst I was out, Mrs WM called me and said I'd got to the front of the queue (227k when I finally got in). There were only individual standing tickets and the cheapest was £490.

As massive a fan as I am, I'm not paying to stand next to thousands who would've paid a 1/3 of what I paid for a ticket.

Really disappointed in them for agreeing to that demand based pricing. The demand was obvious.

And TicketMaster's an effing joke.

It's disgusting what the Gallagher brothers have done.
They instructed Ticketmaster to introduce dynamic pricing.

I'm still pretty certain I'm the only person in the UK who thinks Oasis are nothing more than an "okay" band...

I couldn't give a shit about seeing Oasis any more than i would Taylor Swift, but to say that resale can only be "at face value" when they treble their own face value while people are in the queue is pure hypocrisy by the Gallaghers.

Yeah, let’s be honest the whole thing is a bit of a money grab. I was reading yesterday that Noel gets full ownership of the music rights next year so getting interest built, streams up etc is perfect timing for a sale to a royalty company

That being said, still can’t wait

Theyd do well to review the dynamic pricing situation and refund the difference on people’s tickets, not sure they will though. Not even sure when dynamic prices kick in…there were millions trying to get tickets so surely it should’ve kicked in on ticket one ?! Just a scam and feels like some kind of misselling to me as it wasn’t stated at the start of the sales process

They were great for the first couple of albums. Then, they must definitely did just turn out to be just an okay band in the end.

Still gutted at the whole fiasco. At 9:00 I was 2500ish in the queue, so should've been guaranteed tickets. Tried Selecting them and got a confirming availability spinning wheel for an hour then told tickets weren't available, tried again and got booted out to 300k in the queue. By the time I got back in, the in-demand pricing tickets were the only option, and I can't justify £700 for me and the mrs.

We could have a weekend away for less than that.

Absoute corrupt shit show

My niece (Coventry Kid) plays drums for a popular band in America and they sold their publishing and royalty rights to wave music last year in a multi million dollar deal...no idea how all that works tbh but she doesn't need to ever work again if she chooses not to.

When they have the rights, does that mean the band no longer makes any money from that old music? ie streams, use on adverts etc etc.

Couldn’t quite believe it myself but true

Sony Set to Purchase Queen’s Music Catalog for $1.2 Billion – Royalty Exchange

Would imagine Noel could get 100-200m maybe more after recent boost of interest

What will these companies do with them,is the full on movement of that guy in the recent past who had a big lawsuit with the stones and verve,it only became an issue with his ownership from what I recall?
A move that will see the entertainment industry subject to dynamic pricing etc etc foisted on the proles, capitalism gone mad,too far, leveraging more and more from the end user, nothing to do with getting value from a rather stupid audience tbh?

How does it work with tours if somebody else owns the rights? Say somebody buys the rights but then the artist wants to play those songs on tour. They have to pay the owner of the rights?

Depends on the circumstances won't it,if it's sold from a publisher the artist has a friendly relationship with, to another more hostile one?

Yes Dave, Jen Ledger is my niece, absolutely lovely young woman .
The whole off her close family are deeply religious Christians (members of Livinlightchurch) her siblings and Mum & Dad now live in Taunton where the church is headquartered in the UK (bit of a cult imo) but they are all unbelievably happy.
Her elder brother David is actually a much better drummer than Jen but just plays in local brands .

Where do I sign up

Always found it a bit odd you never hear a thing about her locally. We celebrate a band like the Enemy but not someone local who plays arenas worldwide

You can play anything you like. What you should actually do at any level is fill in a form with the set list and songwriters and that goes off to the performing rights society here which is linked to similar societies worldwide. Then the songwriters, or whoever owns the rights, gets paid their royalties.

But they’re buying these rights for streaming, reissues, TV & movie soundtracks, things like that.

Although with some of the numbers being thrown around you have to wonder if the investors aren’t going to lose a ton on some of these deals.

Lost some respect for the Gallaghers. Ive been an avid fan all my life, was lucky enough to see them In 09 at the CBS with the Enemy on my birthday!

Seen Liam solo a few times also

Tried for this but fuck me it's been a shambles from minute 1, and them 'working class' boys agreeing to that ridiculous dynamic pricing leaves a sour taste

Also reading they will be kept completely apart other than on stage just makes me feel it's not going to be as great as some think

Alongside the demographic now being different, it will be full of people mainly there for the Instagram photo opportunity
