Was just watching some clips of O’Hare’s misses he’s had at least 5 sitters from yards out he’s failed to convert...the post was called “Luke Thomas with smaller shin pads” Who does everyone prefer out of the 2 ?

O’Hare is the most fouled player in the league.

O’Hare has been guilty of missing some guilt edge chances but I’m more positive that the hard part is getting into goalscoring positions, goals will come

I liked Thomas but he managed to cause havoc running at teams then not knowing what to do after.

O’Hare seems to know what he wants to do but for whatever reason he blows it at the last moment

Everything is done at a frantic pace needs to slow it down at that final moment, lacks composure at times.

As magwitch said, he gets into the positions, I believe eventually it will click and he’ll be a devastating player

That’s the phrase I was looking for “lacks composure”

O'Hare. If he could finish he'd be playing for Villa in the PL right now. He's much more of a rounded player. Thomas was fast and exciting. O'Hare is clever, his passing is good, he has quick feet, can turn a challenge well, uses his body to win free kicks in important parts of the field. He can carry us from pressure on the edge of our area to a free kick in the opposition half in 1 run.
O'Hare is and will be the better, all round player. Of that im certain.

Must be something Villa put in to their players at a young age

Just said the exact same thing to a villa mate of mine. Grealish in the prem and O'Hare for us in the champ. Must be something they are coaching.

How is he doing for you guys? I personally found him a really good player... until he got to the box, he should have scored 20 for us

Pretty much same I’d say pal. He’ll only get better with a run off games and he’s not getting that with us.

I found it frustrating because there’s a good player in there, but the final product is woeful.

I found Chaplin to be similar - got into great situations but like O’Hare for us, finishing just wasn’t there

O'hare hands down, the goals will come but apart from that he already offers so much more, he really puts in a shift constantly harassing players.

Thomas was fun to watch because he was direct and pacy but that doesn't convert higher up the leagues. I feel O'hare could click like Sterling did (obviously not at that level) just needs to iron out the jitters in front of goal and he'll be a gem

Hah yeah there is that.

I feel we are very lucky to have Adi on our coaching staff. Our fortunes took an upturn when he joined. Done wonder with the young players.I still recon O'hare has plenty of time to et more clinical

Theyre different positions for a start (CAM v Wing) but I’d rather O’Hare.

I actually quite liked Thomas, very pacey, direct and good at tracking back but sadly no end product. I feel like there’s a link between O’Hare being most fouled and his lack of end product this year i.e. fouled before he can provide an assist/shoot.

Might explain why he didn’t make the grade at Villa. Grealish was the most fouled last year but also provided assists and goals (8/6 respectively) in the Premier League.

They are different types of player but there is still plenty of similarities in their size, direct running/ball carrying, good quality first touch, the way the roll a man and their poor end product.

I don't feel there's much correlation between the fouls and his assists though. O'Hare is fouled a lot but he's often looking for it too - he loves to nip in front of a bigger man and then go to ground under the challenge. It'd be interesting to see a pitch map of where he gets fouled, I'd bet it was relatively deep on the pitch.

For me his lack of assists is partly down to lack of options to pass to - we simply don't get many bodies in the box especially on the central counter attack, which is when he sees a lot of the ball. It's also down to his composure though. He regularly delays through balls or the final pass by a second or two which is a lifetime when threading a through ball. Other times the accuracy just isn't there because he's flying along when he release the ball.

Don't think he's always looking for it to be honest; there were a few in the Preston and Millwall game. I don't think he was looking to get Rugby tackled at the end of that Millwall game

Opposition players tactically fouling him will have an impact on his end product I think (even if it's just the perception of it on here ).

But I also wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of the fouls committed far away from the opposition penalty area like you say - that's the best place to commit them! And he does like dropping deeper to see more of the ball.

Ultimately different positions, o hare has something though... Seems a bit raw still but with the correct guidance can be very good at this level

His workrate is bonkers, Mourinho would love him if he managed us
