Been reported that Liverpool's Raul Meireles put in a transfer request at 10.30 last night and was gone by 11!

That sort of business by the City would have saved a bit on City fans' blood pressure levels last night for sure!

True. Except McDonald signed for us! You have to scratch your head and wonder what on earth we offered him don't you? Freedom of the City? A harem of wives? Last King of Scotland? That he can go in the January window if he does well?

To be fair, we put out a statement before that saying we were done for the day.

Also in Meireles, they had a player who wanted to move, a player wanted by the club he was going to, and a club who wanted him away having bought lots of other players in his position. Plus an agent who more than likely had agreed it all and tied the deal together before going to Liverpool and saying this is what is happening.

How about a conspiracy - Liverpool didn't want to be seen to be selling one of their players to a rival so told him that if he wanted the move he needed to put the transfer request in. That way the club look the innocent party........stranger things have happened.
