You could even count Rose as CM as well.

I don't think it is actually too bad, we just need to start getting shots on target and finishing chances.

Really? If we changed Wright for Armstrong, people would be really excited.

It is just putting away the chances.

CM is Rose's position, right? I actually think that squad looks half decent.

Time will tell i guess

a few of them can play in more than one position.

its an exciting young squad. Looks like we will be judged by the "goals scored" column this season

Dunno, not promotion material but safe enough with a chance of better, though hit by injury a little too much, Rose and Stokes will be out for some time.
Another issue is that all the loans end in January, what happens then, definitely McCann has to be replaced and he is an automatic choice.

PS McBean missed..

Disregarding the frailty at the back?

It's a poor team, even if Armstrong was in it. It's also the youngest in all 4 divisions, was that Mowbrays aim?

No, hence him saying....

We are a developing team. Tonight isn't the end of the business

Personally I'm glad it's a young squad. Room for the players to grow. Better than average-to-middling, mid-to-late 20 year-olds who won't improve.

If we had Armstrong it's a stronger team than last season. The defence is robust. Jones is capable. The keeper is getting more experience. Other than Armstrong and Murphy the only other loss really is Fleck and Fleck flatters to deceive a lot.

An experienced CB and I think that's a cracking squad. What would be people's first choice 11?

I think at the moment:

RCC
Willis Turnbull Harries
Sterry Gadzhev McCann Page
Wright Agyei Jones

S: Burge, Ricketts, DKE, Bigi, Stevenson, K Thomas, Sordell

With Stokes and Rose to come back, that's a pretty strong 18...

its time for everyone connected to the club to shout about the fact that they are investing in youth and long term goals for the squad.

Encourage fans to get behind them and see how the season goes.

I for one am excited about this bunch of kids

Yep. That is my ONLY concern. Everything else is looking pretty decent now I would say.

Just need to get our shooting boots on sharpish and we can start moving up the table.

We all know TM has a task on his hands..he started building last season setting the backroom happenings square, this season he has invested in youth and more permanent signings, if we as fans can get off our asses and go support the team who knows what may happen this season, I don't expect us to be automatic promotion candidates but we have an outside chance of making the play offs if all comes good then next season or maybe if the crowds are big enough we may purchase the 1 or 2 players that push the team and club on to bigger and better things... lets hope the young pretenders go on a scoring spree for us.. but in the meantime lets rally call and get as many people into the Ricoh as possible...enough of the NOPM shit and everything do that in the week if you must but Saturdays (and midweek games) belong to the team on the pitch...COME ON LETS ALL SING TOGETHER JUST FOR ONCE PUSB>>>> ALWAYS IN MY HEART

No, I wish.

Had to drop the missus off.

Unfortunately it was at work and not from a bridge.

With Stokes and Rose to come back we don't look that bad overall, my worry is after a recent game, Bury I think Mowbray himself identified us not bring tough and savvy enough I don't know if that's been covered especially in the midfield area. I'll see if Bigi comes off in that dept. we all know this is a tough league physically especially when the winter weather turns up.

For us to improve the players we have need to develop. Some of the things he says is addressed to the squad we have, not necessarily about who he intends to bring in. Remember development u23 teams are not the most competitive win at all costs environments. It is an angle young players have to adapt to with first team football.

This is the thing isn't it.

When does it become the manager signing the wrong players? Bigi wasn't a rush signing, he had bought a house down here and got married etc.

All of this "I feel so sorry for Mowbray", "we have young players".

I am sure he could have got experience in place of Turnbull, in place of Bigi.

We tried experience. Pressley loved a journeyman pro, and what good did that do us? Now we have a youngish team, with a good number on permanent deals. That was what TM wanted. And sure, he also wants a few old heads to mix alongside them, but young and hungry gives us a future to look forward to. We're 5 games in, with a squad that looks decent. Nothing to worry about at all.
