Would it be wise to offer him a contract at the end of his loan spell ? [if Ipswich allow] thought he was shocking Saturday. seems to have a decent game every 1 in 4/5 games.

I like him, I think he is capable and better through the middle rather than on the wings

We have already offered him a contract, he isn't on loan.

Ipswich have washed their hands of him already, he's officially a Coventry City player until the summer and then he's free to do whatever he wants.

Maybe he will run away with Alex Nimley?

Perhaps he's still suffering from that shove off the Fleetwood steward

Ah right. not sure if we can afford a player who turns up when it suits.

Not sure if he wants a permanent contract suggest wage demands reduced substantially with money being made up by goals/win bonuses in contract. Think we can get better for his wages if I am being honest though he does have ability when his mind is focused on game.

I like(d) him, but he was shocking on Saturday and offered absolutely nothing.

He didn't have a good game but the same could be said about 99% of the team, he wasn't the worse player on Saturday

I'd probably let him go though, unless he has an amazing end to the season.

I was thinking maybe his supply was making him appear bad but, even Wallace said in commentary he was giving nothing. I was that bored in the 2nd half I tuned into cwr.

No, some players played really poorly. I'm simply saying that to my mind Nouble offered nothing at all. It wasn't that he was bad as such, but more like he wasn't even there on the field of play.

I would give him a contract on the basis that on his day there's not many that could deal with him in this league, shame that's only every other game if that. Wouldn't be suprised if someone came and nicked him though

I must have imagined him creating/involved in our best chance of the match other than the goal.

Guess it depends if TM thinks he can channel it properly.

He did do that. Then he did absolutely nothing else. So, it was almost like he wasn't there.

I like the bloke, but if he can only offer 15-20 seconds in a game then that's not good enough for me.

So when you said he offered nothing at all, you were making it up? Or did you forget that he did offer something?

O'Brien and Samuel created the goal, other than that they didn't do much for the other 89 minutes as well. Every single other player other than the two just mentiones offered even less than Nouble (Unless you count Martin/Stokes/Willis/Burge offering gifts to the opposition)

Anyway I've already said I wouldn't renew (unless he has amazing end to the season) that said he is still our best striker excluding loans and overall second best after Samuel.

Nope, didn't make it up and didn't forget either. Remember perfectly well the incident.

Okay. For for your pedantic benefit, I will change it. Nouble offered nothing at all, apart from one 15 second spell in the game.'

Happy?

What difference does it make? I like the bloke but he was pretty much anonymous on Saturday and I think pretty much everyone agrees on that anyway don't they?

Also, don't get your point on JOB and Stokes etc. This thread is entitled 'Nouble.' There is a thread on Stokes and been loads on JOB.

Fair point.

I have rated the guy and pinpointed him as a match winner, but we simply cannot have him strolling round the pitch like he was on Saturday. He offered nothing!*

*Apart from one little 15 second burst.

Problem is, when you go busting a gut and witness a team mate who isn't it causes contagion. We can't afford 15 second cameos.

Yep. At least JOB and Samuel worked hard and tried to make things happen.

I just think Nouble is an easy scapegoat for some on here, its easy to throw out 'he doesn't work hard enough' or 'his work ethic isn't good enough' based on his reputation or because everyone else says it without actually thinking what you are writing, have they seen the stats from the matches then saying what distances the players have ran during the match and showing that Nouble runs the least? Last week he was closing down the keeper in the 90th minute at Fleetwood, when the legs are tired and he scored a goal yet all some wanted to pick on was that he was surprised to see the ball come back off the post and not that he was closing down the keeper in injury time.

Yes he didn't have the greatest of games, I wouldn't say shocking personally but he still offered more than Fleck, Barton, Odelusi, Phillips, Burge, Willis, Stokes, Martin and Jackon combined. Where are all the threads on them players in relation to Saturdays game?

I rate Nouble. Have said as much.

I would disagree with you though in relation to other players. There was effort from the likes of Phillips, Willis, Stokes and Martin etc. They were involved in the game, no matter how badly they played. Nouble was a bystander for the most part and for me that is not acceptable.

And i am only talking about Saturday's game. I am not using Nouble as a scapegoat. In no way, shape or form would I blame him for the defeat. Other players' errors were the main cause, obviously.

It's not anything towards you specifically, I'm just fed up of the Nouble bashing in general and you have received the brunt of my frustration.

The only difference that counts for Saturdays game, is that during JOB and Samuel only meaningful contribution for the 90 minutes we scored and in Nouble only meaningful contribution we hit the post.

Nouble still has a lot to prove. I wouldn't make a decision on one performance against Doncaster, when the whole team was off colour. But he needs to put in some good performances between now and the end of the season. We need more consistency from him if he can't give us that he has to go and ply his trade somewhere else.

Dont see what others see in him lazy and just turning up for the money another one who has potential but can't be bothered.
We have had too many of them none of them were any good.

I think he has a mental & natural fitness problem IMO - you can tell what sort of game he will play when he first touches the ball, if gets the ball and charges at the defence then he will be quite reasonable all game, if the opposition defence smothers him from the off then he can't be arsed to fight and his game tails off

When he has bursts of inspiration or energy or whatever it is, he looks like he could take on the world. If you had that consistently you'd have one hell of a player, but of course if he had that consistently he'd be nowhere near the bottom of League One too.
