Only signed till January on loan, I'd put a full transfer bid in when it runs out.

3 in 5 is a pretty good record for a man who's previously struggled to score at other clubs.

Who does that remind you of?

Clarke and McGoldrick, cough, cough.

Our league position will depend on whether he stays or goes. He won't want to hang around even if he is finding a good vein of form

And although Ipswich have players like McGoldrick up front, I'm sure they'd want a striker in their squad who has been scoring.

If he keeps this form up, SISU have a chance to prove they care about this club by putting some money on the table to sign him.

I thought his goal was brilliant but he reminds me a bit like Heskey at Leicester.
For such a big guy he goes down easy.

Sometimes I wish he would just head the ball.
The booking was silly.

But then again, you could say the same about Leon Clarke.

Both big guys who have that cocky attitude and go down easy at times.

I made the McGoldrick comparison in the match thread in that he's a Championship quality player IMO. Not as good as McGoldrick, but still a class above this division and anything else we've got. I'd love us to bid for him-it would be a worthy re-investment of some of the Wilson fee and would reap rewards for that investment IMO.

In terms of style, very much reminds me of a young Adebola when he had pace, especially one game for Brum in a League Cup game that I saw on TV!

I like Jackson too. I think the two together are a potent partnership in the making, potentially one of the best in this division.

A bit like Dele, often didn't make the most of his physical presence in the air: a big lad but who prefers it in to feet. That should, however, suit the way we want to play and Jackson can make runs off him.

Jackson worked his socks off when he came on. Give him a few more games and he'll become a solid player alongside Nouble.

That's the problem with loans isn't it. If he keeps this up there's little chance of us being able to keep him, if he was doing badly we'd probably end up with him all season!

Jackson and Nouble seems such a better fit than Nouble and McQuoid. Jackson is better at making space for himself, is more skilful and a lot quicker too.

Puzzled as to why SP went with Nouble and McQuoid from the off.

McQuoid has a few more goals.

Because McQuoid has scored more goals than Jackson?

Well yes, I get that. But Nouble and McQuoid just don't seem to be a good partnership pairing.

The big man / little zippy, speedy poacher seems such a better fit.

I didn't think mcqoid played that bad. He worked extemely hard in the first half doing Nouble's running for him, showing for the ball, etc.

Good comparison with Heskey. I remember M.Owen saying Heskey was the best player he played with up top because he did a lot of his dirty dog work. If we can keep Nouble past January, we just need McQuoid, Miller or Jackson to become his Owen.

I wasn't impressed myself. Thought things vastly improved with Jackson's introduction.

Tbh, that was probably more to do with the fact that Jackson came after we had built some momentum, rather than Jackson himself. The spark really came from midfield and nouble deciding he actually wanted to play.

He worked extremely hard but lacked quality today and the service in the first half

That's what I thought. He would have probably scored had nouble pulled it back to him instead of shooting from the touch line. Not saying mcqoid was great, would probably give him a 6, but he certainly wasn't awful.
