...if we can get to January and we're real play-off contenders I'll want to stay here, carry on doing well and see it through. Frank Nouble, Fri 05 Sep 2014Well taken goal yesterday , have we a new Dele Adebola in the team?

Good touch to set Thomas up for the shot too, could tell he needs games to get fit though.

I thought he was a donkey, couldn't control the ball. Decent finish though. Needs 3-4 games to get his match fitness and sharpness up.

He is a very similar player to Adebola. As a target man he does the job well. I would be surprised if he gets more than 12 goals, but will likely set up McQuoid and Jackson.

I said in the thread when he signed that he isn't very good and he didn't do much to change my mind last night.

His sheer size causes problems which is good but the ball bounced off him far too many times when played into him.

Could be a good option to bully defences but I don't see him scoring many.

Reminds me a little of Dele. And will be brilliant and awful in equal measure.

He's like a more mobile Adebola

I think he will do well. Offered us more than Tudgay has so far in his CCFC career (still hoping he comes good as I was genuinely pleased to see us sign him, but he's yet to do anything to impress me......)

When we clear our lines we need it to stick and take the pressure off. Nouble gives us that outlet, him and Jackson will give league one teams a real problem.

Totally agree Thought Nouble offered something different and we looked a threat while he was on the pitch. Very disappointed in Tudgay. At times in the second half I was shouting for him to get up and support McQuoid or Thomas but didn't seem interested. It wasn't great that at times Fleck and Thomas were our furthest forward players. Wish Jordan Clarke would come forward more as well. Seemed to stop when he got past the half way line!

I thought he had an impressive debut, he scored and a couple of his touches were a class above. Tudgay disappointed me last night; lethargic and doesn't really complement nouble. I doubt tudgay will get 5. I think we are contenders for the play offs this year but Conor Thomas is dreadful

Right you bunch of naysayers.

Bet time. If he stays to the end of the season he'll score 15 or more goals

Same odds and deal as the McQuoid bet with Shmeee.

He took his goal well, but has a poor first touch and is seemingly not very good at holding the ball up. Wasn't particularly impressed, but let's see how he does over a number of games.

He's saying he'll only stay if we are play off contenders? I guess that's just how football is these days. :-(

At first I thought he may have a poor first touch but he changed My mind as the game wore on. I though he had a couple of really good touches and at times I thought he showed good vision.. Could possibly bring people into play and will give plenty of assists I think..

I was quite impressed with him last night, thought he had a good touch for a big un, and got about the pitch well till he tired. Did well to hold his run for the goal and definitely gave more than I've seen from Tudgay so far, should start the yeovil game with Nouble and one of McQoid or Jackson

P.S. the bench looks quite strong with the addition of him and Hines

Looked good going forward with the ball at his feet, took his goal well but looks a moody git. Doesn't show any enthusiasm to get the ball back when he loses it and stays on the ground too long when knocked over. Tme will tell.

I thought he was ok...no better. In his defence, first game for us and looked a little rusty in terms of fitness but the record books will say - 1 game, 1 goal so fair play to the lad. Hopefully he and McQuoid/Jackson will strike up the big man/little man partnership that's worked well for us previously.

One thing that baffled me, a lot of the balls forward in the air last night, were aimed at Tudgay. Surely they would've been better aimed at Nouble? Been a bigger man and all that?

He made a good tackle down by the corner flag and was starting to reel away when the Gills player pulled him back by his short. JC turned and pushed him then the Gills player grabbed him by the throat. Despite pushing him, I'm surprised he didn't blow when grabbed by the throat...I know I would've headbutted the fella in the knee caps if he did that to me!

Started poorly in the first 10 (i.e not meeting the ball etc), then grew after scoring that goal

Good debut, hopefully a valuable addition.

CT disappointed me, seemed to get worse as the game went on, needs to work on his strength IMO

Me too. I thought he and Tudgay were the 'weaker' links of an otherwise good performance. CT started off well but as you say, got progressively worse. Not sure what Tudgay offered....I think he's a good player but looking forward to seeing him fit into the team a little better.

Completely agree. I'd use Tudgay as an impact player personally. Start McQuoid and Jackson/Nouble.

Do we now have: Tudgay, McQouid, Jackson, Nouble and Miller all as strikers?

I'm short and Irish mate. A combo as effective as Kevin Kyle and Freddie Eastwood!

I thought Nouble ran like a player who's boots are too tight, Tudgay was very average but the keeper worried me the most he had no control of the six yard box.

Hmm, have to say I thought he was a bit inept in the main.

That said, couple of nice balls (more by luck than judgement?) and a nice goal... but lots of attempts to blunder through defenders rather than around them.

That said... his first game, and always slightly uncomfortable criticising players as they are what they are; he certainly put the effort in to try and do something... just not convinced he has the ability to do what his mind tells him to.

Big and powerful, once he has been here a while he will offer more and more for us. Took his goal nice and I agree with Hill. If he stays here to the end of the season he will score more than 15. Certainly offered a lot more than Tudgay.

Donkey I thought his 1st touch was shocking.(bar the goal) and he kept falling over his own feet... Makes Hesket look like pele... But if he keeps scoring and we keep winning 1 0 I'll take it

I said when he signed, even if he isn't great. He offers us something that we didn't have and were desperate for.

That's absurd. He has some technique and can hold the ball up. His distribution was not too bad either and he had a physical presence which we urgently need.

He's been playing at a higher level for a manager who is far from stupid.

Makes a nice change that fan opinion is divided by what happening on the pitch rather than the politics off it
