But …… do you Skyblue folks feel different from our previous experiences ?
To me , there is an air of inevitability this time around, as IT IS OUR TIME !
I hope you share my positivity

It feels different this time. I just hope we capitalise on the Friday and take our chances and keep a clean sheet

I definitely think we will get to Wembley but it honestly is a toss up if we win there or not

The difference this time is I felt confident we would secure a top 6 finish whereas last time I always thought we would drop out, hopefully that counts for something!

I thought this was a deliberate play on words, as a nod to Rudoni's first goal on Saturday.

i think its absolutely 50/50 vs Sunderland.

Which, given how they started the season, is a testament to how much we've progressed.

I don't feel overconfident like some. However I do feel different

2 years ago it felt like a miracle and a day I didn't think I would ever see. I still deep down expected failure albeit with hope we made it to prem

This year it doesn't feel unrealistic to me that we could be in the premier league again either next year or in the next few

It doesn't mean anything but yeah, it's different

Yep, it feels different to me. First time around I think the club over celebrated getting to the final. There was a job still to be done and I think it contributed to our lacklustre performance in the 1st half. Bristol City’s celebrations on Saturday had a similar feel about it.
After the heartbreak of our last two trips, combined with Frank’s experience of huge games, I think there may be more of a resolve and determination about not coming away empty handed. There aren’t that many players in our squad that are new to Wembley with us and I really think that will help. Not such a novelty any more and they’ll want to right the previous wrongs.

Same

Feels different this time around but cant figure out in a positive or negative way

One thing is for sure, I dont want to leave Wembley on the losing side again. The last 2 times have been the worst I've ever felt after a game and I cannot be arsed to go through that again

If we make the final I am debating watching it on sky with my dad rather than go Wembley for the reason you said.

Although checkatrade and league 2 were amazing days out so maybe it's worthwhile giving it another go!

Ultimately these are the games every fan wants to see their team play. A third successive penalty shootout defeat would be taking the piss, mind

If we won, you’d have the worse sense of FOMO you’ve ever experienced.

I do worry if we lost 3 Wembley trips on the trot it will become a ‘thing’ that we can’t win there.

I raised this idea in the group chat as I had felt similar. Was told to man up and go haha.

If we ever did win it at Wembley however fuck staying in London celebrating, back to Cov as soon as possible as it would be going off

Tbh there are worse ways to see us go up than watching on TV with my punjabi dad who went from being worried about letting me go to games as a kid due to hooliganism to now being cov mad when back then he didn't really follow the sport much.

Anyway let's focus on semi final before we get to that decision!

Indeed. As it happens Mrs BSB might be too pregnant to go to the final if we made it, she’ll be determined though

100% after Luton, but I felt nothing but pride and injustice after United. I think probably because I'd gone there with different expectations.

Hopefully her waters break immediately after promotion - you'll be all over the news and perhaps a nice few quid in it for you. Especially when you name the baby Jack or Ephron after a magical Wembley performance.

Plus if we lose, she can aim the waters at Gus Hamer

I think the feeling of I could have been there but wasn't in the event we win would just about be worse than the feeling of being if we lose, which is swaying it for me.

As rotten and horrible as 2023 was, I got some of my all-time CCFC memories during that day: Hamer's equaliser, 100% of the Luton fans I met before and after being sound as fuck and the sea of sky blue on Wembley Way.

Sunderland will look at our away record and think if they can be difficult to beat on FRIDAY with a low block they will take us on the second leg.

Agreed on the equaliser, I felt only we were going to win from that point. And if Hamer had stayed on, think we would have.

Oh god I'd forgotten about this. I was genuinely on my haunches on the ground and the guy behind me hoisted me up yelling "VAR! VAR!"

I've already made the decision not to go if we make it. I've got a son and a daughter both wanting to go...so I'm going to watch it at home with the 2 of them. 1st Wembley I will miss - but I've loved every single one of them (maybe not Everton). I've taken all 3 of my kids to Wembley so this time I'll be at home. IF we make it.

Firstly, congrats to @Brighton Sky Blue and @covcity4life on your impending new arrivals!

Secondly, providing I can get tickets for the final, I'll 100% be there. I totally get those who don't want to potentially experience a recent 3rd heartache but just imagine....just imagine if we were to do it.

I wasn't at 87...so this could easily be the best sporting day of my life if we got there and won.

I feel marginally better than 2 years ago, about our chances. I'd rather have Gyokeres in the team mind but I was more worried about playing Luton 2 years ago than any of the other 3 teams in the POs this season.

I really thought we were destined in 2023 and was still annoyed 2 weeks later after we lost. Felt we'd missed our chance and had such a crazy rebuild to do so I thought we might fade away a bit

The semi-final I had zero expectation and the comeback was incredible so was gutted but brushed it off fairly quickly

This time around i think I'll be somewhere in between, I certainly feel like its more likely we lose than win. However, if we lose I think we have a squad to go again next year and trust we'll be stronger
