Was annoyed by such a stupid booking as Id have had money on Kitching dishing out some retribution on the lad who left one on Thomas (after Thomas took him out first half). A wasted yellow

Funny how BTA is shit and Sakamoto gets 7s but things happen when BTA is there. I'll be controversial and say I don't think we would have scored 7 against QPR if Sakamoto had been playing. I like him, and he is exciting to watch, but while he's faffing about on the wing, the defence sorts itself out and the mid-field covers back.

Completely agree.Sakamoto slows down our attacking play. I’d start BTA wide right v Leicester.

Don't necessarily agree but it's an interesting point.

Well we had an xG of 1.27 against QPR which meant that we didn't particularly create much, in fact we only created 1 "big chance" but were ridiculously clinical.

We had an xG of 4.02 today with Sakamoto playing, meaning we created way more high quality chances including 7 big chances but we couldn't bit a barn door.

His cross for EMC when he hit the post was absolutely brilliant. If that goes in i think we end up with a completely different result today.

I held my breath when he looked like he drop-kicked someone on the edge of our area in the first half. From block 18 i've no idea what actually happened but it looked 'robust'

Thomas couldn’t have complained if he got dragged at half time - all over the fucking place. I like both of them but not a calm head between them. Both rile each other up and then just give away stupid fouls.
Yeah Thomas didn't have a good game. Watched the goal back and it seems like it was unlikely their striker scores, shoukd have blocked it competently like their defenders did countless times.

I thought Mason Clarke was really poor. He had so much of the ball and did so little with it. Staggering how poor his crossing is for a winger and his need to do an extra step over once he’s already beaten his man does my head in. Sakamoto also didn’t have a great game which really hammered home our need for alternatives out wide.

According to dufferent posters on this thread, Rudi, Toro, Tats, Rushworth, Haji, Thomas, Kitching, Ephron all had poor games. So only Dasikva, MVE and Grimes played well. I must've watched s different game as I thought we outplayed and dominated a team who had spoiling tactics and we should've won.

Well I didn't check them all as I was preoccupied but Simms put one away that was lovely in the corner.

Night and day more useful than Sakamoto for me. Happy to take the hit.

Saka is slow. Holds up play and weak. Got that one trick and can whip a delivery in. But we look a weaker team with him in it.

Thomas at fault for the goal ( again ) not Wright unless you think Wright should have committed a foul to stop the move.

He should have attempted the challenge, if he conceded the foul, and even if he got booked, which I doubt he would of, then so be it.
. It was piss poor from Wright.
That doesn't exonerate Thomas.

Why are the ratings so low. Jeez if we win that..98 times out of 100 we do if we play that game again.

The ratings would be like this if we had won it.

7 Rushworth
8 Van Ewick
5 Thomas
7 Kitching
7 Da Silva
8 Mat Grimes
6 Rudoni
6 Torp
7 Wright
7 EMC
7 Sakamoto

The performance was excellent bar a bit of luck.

I honestly think you can argue if both ways … yes wright should have been stronger but it wasn’t such a threatening position that he should certainly have made a foul to stop the match.

Thomas switching off every match is a much bigger issue in my mind ….,

Surprised the ratings are so low. I must have watched a different game. Basically we absolutely battered a very good championship side. That’s QPR again with a couple of different rolls of the ball. Probably 8’s all round with 7 for Van Ewijk and Torp.

I didn't think Milan covered himself with glory in the build up to their goal either.

Been saying that for a while. He’s a passable right winger masquerading as a full back.

It was a bit of a bizarre run up to the goal to be honest where no one really wanted to commit.

Wright pulled out of his challenge, MVE mistimed his run to close Kvistgaarden down and didn't do anything to really rectify it and Bobby's attempt of a block was just piss weak.

I'm sure people (me included) see what they want to see, I was thinking the exact opposite about the warm-ups. I thought he barely he the target in the warm up v QPR but by and large looked quite sharp yesterday.

He made 3 or 4 really poor passes, which should have been routine, in really good areas when we were attacking.
Other than that he played well.
Never really noticed it at the time but I think you might have a point about looking quicker.

To be fair I thought a few players were guilty of suspect passing.

His ball retention was top draw though. Especially when they were overloading the left hand side to keep Ephron quiet he was able to manoeuvre the ball under pressure really well.

And yeah he definitely looked like he had found an extra yard of pace compared to last year. Although that as a benchmark was pretty low.

Torp showed a silly side to himself yesterday. Shooting from anywhere, reckless and wild as well.

I know why and im glad he have a player who wants to shoot, God knows arteta prob gave zubamendi a hard time for having the audacity to smash in a 25 yard volley such is the game now, but Torp got carried away with his recent success and became wasteful and selfish
