At some point the missus is gonna wake me up and tell me it was all a daft dream. Robins and Viveash didn’t fall out, Lawrence laughed away Minnesota, King was happy to leave things as it were and this season hasn’t even started yet. She’s probably fucking drugged me again.

I saw it coming, inviting all that pressure with no way of getting up the pitch. Once they got one, you just knew they’d go and get another. Pathetic from us but wee are a joke club right now.

I have nothing to add to what's already been said about the performance and the match (apart from: I never ever want to see BTA playing for this club again ), but just as a quick point: The atmosphere in the away end was fucking awful at even at 1-0, this is a demoralised and unconfident fanbase.

Agreed about the fan noise.

Strongly disagree on BTA. It was a bad miss but all striker make those misses including golden boy Bassette. BTA did a lot more today than Bassette who contributed absolutely nothing on the ball. Misplaced passes, outmuscled and ran into dead ends, you really have to question the logic of starting him after Simms played well v Cardiff.

Take today’s strategy, we were getting forward in the first half and trying to put the ball in the box… start Simms. You go 1-0 and having an energetic striker like Bassette to finish the game against lethargic defenders at a time where the midfield and BTA is flagging actually makes sense. It actually helps Bassette’s development.

Don’t think we were great, don’t think we were terrible - Thought we played worse on NYD and got a result (albeit against a much inferior side)

Neither side could have moaned at 1-1, it’s a lovely first goal but heads completely gone after

Squad is so devoid of leadership and a senior figure who would have dragged us over the line in that game by the scruff of the neck

So ambivalent towards the rest of the season, couldn’t care less if we got beat next week just want to get back to League action and make sure we stave off a dogfight

Imagine we just used that back 5 all season. Seems so obvious but neither manager seems/seemed to want to do it. Must be something in the water in the training ground that's making them do weird shit.

Lati is effectively vice captain which makes sense why he is starting but he makes elementary mistakes. Take the WBA goal or his mistakes v Cardiff and Plymouth that didn’t lead to goals but that’s not the point.

With Lampard, he definitely came in and kept the status quo but after seeing Kitching play well today, he really ought to start the next match. Just as he started Collins and wised up to start Dovin, the same will happen with Kitching and I’ve said this all season.

There’s a reason that we as a team concede a lot more goals and keep less clean sheets with Lati and Binks in the team v Kitching and Thomas.

Bassette was fucking garbage today, don't get me wrong, but whereas he has shown brief moments of quality and potential the only thing BTA has demonstrated is that he isn't good enough. He's missed two golden,.game-changing chances in two games and we are within our rights to demand better even from our fringe players.

Honestly I think if Robins was smart enough to go with the back 4 from last season, plus Dovin, he'd still be in a job. Sometimes the answer is the most obvious thing.
Dunno what to say about the midfield. Captain fantastic injured again and Eccles was wank.

BTA has scored more goals than Bassette in less minutes.

Bassette hasn’t played in the games he’s played. Got an assist v Spurs, goal v Pompey and Sheff U but hasn’t really offered much outside of that.

He’s being mismanaged by being thrown into the mixer and he’s just not the main guy yet.

Regardless of it being a lost cause or even a foul for that matter, any other team would be surrounding the ref protesting furiously. If I were the gaffer I'd be looking at the players having the craic with the Norwich players after the whistle and banishing them from 1st team contention until they got their attitude in gear.

If they were it says a lot about their true feelings toward the club.
From being a admirer of the young footballer Eccles I have moved to thinking we should not of given him a contract. I can't think of anything positive to say about what he offers these days. Gets booked a lot , gives the ball away a lot doesn't tackle anymore.

The difference in quality of the two teams was glaring obvious today.

First 5-10 mins we were a little sketchy but first half, I thought it was a massive improvement. Got a goal and defended well (for the most), looked like we were in control.

Second half was a side with no confidence. Just boot it away, any control we had in the first, evaporated. Apart from set pieces, how often did we have possession that lasted longer than 20 seconds?

Dovin played well, he's not perfect but made some important, good saves. The two he conceded were not on him. Massive improvement from Collins, there is absolutely no reason to drop him now. The shirt is his, no need to rotate.

I thought the defence, generally, was better. They some how kept them out for 90 mins but if the players in front are talking no pressure off them. With our frailties, it was only a matter of time.

We desperately need an old head in defence and midfield.

100% agree that too much is being expected of Bassette too soon. I would have played Simms from the start today, especially since the plan seemed to be to launch long balls forward

Actually feel we were robbed today, their back line went down like bowling balls every time we went near them and their winner came from what looked like a foul but I could be wrong …highlights the weaknesses in the team, we played well but missing quality and need high quality loans to help us …such a shame today ffs.

BTA has 1 goal in 24 league games at a rate of a goal every 926 minutes
Bassette has 2 goals in 16 league games at a goal every 391 minutes.

Neither should be anywhere near the first 11.

Add to that Simms has 2 in 22 league games at a rate of 483 minutes

None of them are scoring or contributing to the standard you would expect of a competent championship level striker.

As for BTA contributed more on the ball than Bassette today, BTA had the same amount of touches (22) as Bassette despite playing 20 more minutes. Bassette was also involved in the build up of the goal.

He was awful. Exemplified by a needless challenge in a dangerous area for which he received a booking

I agree, he altered what was mostly a successful formula from last season.

For those calling for Sheaf to be shipped off, today was a little warning shot to ‘be careful what you wish for’.

I said this at the end. I hope he uses this chance to keep Kitching in the back 4 and drop Lati. That was incredibly naive of him at the end there to try and pull the foul. Stick it in the stands.

Agreed. At the start of the season, we had 2 clean sheets with Thomas and Kitching. He then began tinkering with the team. I couldn't understand why he never went back to that combo. I hope we do now, at least until there are other options.

First principle, how are you going to get the best out of any of them if you’re constantly chopping and changing them?

As for Simms, he’s played on 24 games but only started in 10 games and since the opening 5 games, hasn’t started in consecutive games. Watford, he starts scores and dropped. Same with Luton, and even NYD when he played well v Cardiff, dropped again.

BTA has rarely been played as a striker and for some reason you’ve chalked off his league cup goals. How many consecutive games as he started as a striker?

Bassette has started 8 times in the 11 games since MR has been sacked with a return of 2 goals. Which is less than Simms and BTA when starting in their actual position.

Our best form last season was when we had mve Thomas kitching bidwell and sheaf & allen, Allen got injured and I think kitching got sent off and never really got back in, should have stuck with that this season ? Looked ok today until the last 3 mins, but you can’t be surprised when lati costs you another goal,

That was dreadful, not too many complaints from the first half although Norwich did have their chances. Second half though, we go 1-0 up and the whole team stands around like a bunch of retards. Could see the equaliser coming from a mile off, I'm just surprised we held out as long as we did. Absolutely livid, every year I go to that shithole and every year we lose. We desperately need some top players in this Jan to lift the so called best players in this squad and take some pressure off. I think most of the talent will leave come thw end of the season though, and to be honest I welcome it, not many I would miss... take Frank the wank with them too. Fresh start is preferable. The only stand out was Dovin who to be fair has had a few good games.
