Wow , certainly not what their fans expected ! We are competing, although their strong arm tactics aren’t working, they are moaning like mad to the ref .
They believe that they only had to turn up ….. wankers

Bassette and BTA will run all day and keep it scrappy. It's not pretty but I think it's working, I'm not convinced Simms would offer that. With him on their defence would get all the time in the world to pass out and start attacks.

Dunno…but they’re both very quick which must be a bit of a headache for their defenders.

So now we’ve established it’s 2 up top, why on earth is BTA playing ahead of Simms?

When we had players like Hamer, O'hare, and Palmer available, there was no way Allen was getting a look in. The fact that he's making his first start, and looking good, just shows how poor our midfield is now.
(That's no disrespect to Allen, just a factual statement imo)

Good away performance so far.

Kitching and, surprisingly, Allen have made a difference. Bidwell's best half of the season.

BTA and Bassette the only weak points so far.

Good first half, interesting change from Frank to move to a counter attack as seems to be very much a manager who favours possession.

Will be interesting to see if it works whether we will see this formation more.

Second half keep it up. Dovin has been amazing so far, Kitching doing well. Milan a lot more attacking then we’ve seen him all year.

Decent half, not pretty and lucky early on but we counter attacked brilliantly. We basically did what every team has done to us this season.

If we brought Simms on and he didn’t do the same work off the ball then it might upset the balance. Whilst Norwich are struggling keep it as it is.

Very good half, need to keep it tight for first 15 minutes of second half and not concede a silly goal.

Really Lampards only big error so far was to stick with Collins in goal. Other than that really it looks at least more cohesive

Tactically spot on first half. Lovely team goal. Not sure I have ever seen Van Erwijk in the offensive 6 yard box so assume that is a Lampard instruction. I think we will need the next goal to prevent them getting any momentum. Dovin looking very good again.
Tempted to bring Eccles on for Sheaf pretty early. He is looking sluggish and one late tackle and he could be off.

Buzzing to be 1-0 up but kinda feels a bit flat. Don't think we've been amazing, but not as bad as Cardiff! A few thoughts:

1. Probably goes against the grain for what Lampard wants to play, but really feel like we are better on the counter. Definitely got the players for it. Like to see us set up this way more.

2. Lati x MVE doing a great job on keeping Sainz quiet. Can see Sainz getting really pissed which is a good thing.

3. Kitching has been pretty damn solid. Jamie Allen working hard.

4. Feel like I am over sensitive to it, but we still are hopeless at passing to our man. We must have one of the worst stats in the league for it because it's 4-5 times a half and usually leads to a counter.

Still expecting this to be max a point for us.

Really impressed with just how clinical we have been considering our defensive approach. This is what's frustrating, points dropped against Cardiff and Millwall, but we gotta keep going in this second half and try and push for a 2nd goal.

I'd be taking off BTA on 55 min mark for Simms and moving Bassette in to his position. We need to give Simms a chance, play to his strengths, balls in the fucking box and he's causing you a problem.

Yes not amazing but it's been efficient but Cardiff was generally dreadful so it had to be better or we would have been destroyed here

Well what can you say about that half. Didn't give us much of a chance with it being Norwich. But Lampard seems to have got this spot on so far. No tippy tappy sideways and backwards rubbish. Straight at them and their dodgy defence. And as a few of us thought great to see MVE higher up the pitch where he is best. Great team goal.

Our high defensive line is holding on so far but it doesn't do the old ticker very good at times.

Much the same for the second half please.

Few teams keep clean sheets at Carrow Road (including the home side), so second goal will be very important. Neither team seems decent on the ball and it's creating chances for both sides.

Off the ball we look very good, pressing very well and as a team, I think.

Need to be much better on the ball, though, but 1-0 up away from home.

Need to work hard to weather the early storm and then we have a chance. Come on City!

Even if end up losing I think lampard is showing enough that people should just shit up and be patient

Don't want to think negatively though. Happy with a point but let's try bring home all 3!

Allen played last season when we went on our decent run, him and sheaf in the middle, he does a lot of the work Eccles and torp can’t,

Will Jamie Allen be able to keep up his energy levels for the whole game, I rather doubt it and I think Torp may come on for the last 20mins.
