We’re all disappointed about last night & Franks credentials will hopefully be shown on Saturday, to turn around last night’s performance ( or lack of it ) ?
More whispers of Onyeka coming in …..but wages to be sorted , but we need a big lift like this , after so many players not at the races, against a poor Norwich side .

Standard embarrassing reaction from a lot of the people on here and Twitter whenever we lose a game.

Reality of yesterday is, it’s probably a draw overall and a silly mistake cost us. It’s going to happen to us, Boro and Ipswich over the next 3 months.

Immediately screaming about needing two new CBs and a LB whenever we lose a game does my head in. We’re top and clear of 3rd by 8 points with 17 games to go ffs.

Why do people keep trying to reduce this down to just last nights result?
We've been poor away for a,while now, if it was just last night's result in isolation we'd just have to take it on the chin but it's not.

Our home form is great, no worries there, but we're still going to need to pick up points away if we want the autos and at the moment it's hard to see that happening unless we change something.

I’m not sure we’ve been that convincing home or away since November. The best we’ve possibly played was v Bristol. We scraped home against Swansea, Leicester and Millwall but the lack of control in games is baffling, considering how well we were playing.
I feel that individuals are trying to do too much on the ball and it’s leading to losing possession all the time. When that happens we usually have at least two of our defenders completely out of position. People starting to point the finger at Grimes really…..He’s the guy usually facing the onslaught when we’re short at the back.

The profile of midfielder we seem to be looking at does indicate that a knowledge that we need a different type of player for some games.

I completely agree that it’s not realistic or helpful to suggest we are going to bring in 3,4 or 5 more players. Not going to happen and shouldn’t frankly. What needs changing is the midfield / setup and it feels like Frank isn’t budging despite our prolonged poor form

We didn't draw.

Even then, a draw would have been a poor result.

Why does it feel like he won't budge? He will clearly set the team how he thinks is best to get the result, he got in really wrong yesterday but for example we have turned up at Portsmouth, Preston and Charlton and played a completely different system unforced with various degrees of success which shows he isn't 100% wedded to the same system.

Anyone catch the Sakamoto incident? I was at the game, and out the corner of my eye saw some flailing limbs from him, and their LB go to ground. Pretty sure Eccles squared up to him after?

I’m just pointing out the people you’re claiming to be Johnny come latelys have almost all got evidence on the site you’re claiming that they’ve been supporting the club for 15 years or more.

Maybe they just disagree with you and you should drop the “real fan” crap?

Gotten some sleep now and still annoyed by that performance.

I thought Norwich looked excellent with the ball. Moved it well, with purpose and pace. We on the overhand passed it between the back three to then lump it straight to Norwich or the touchline.

I think we need to look at this performance and move past it but the team and Lampard are seemingly making the same silly decisions when it comes to away games in particular.

Joe Edwards mentioned before the game we may have to evolve our style and think we are definitely in need of adaptation especially away.

Important we do that for QPR and learn from our mistakes. Genuinely wouldn’t mind looking at the 3-4-3 as just try and solidify the defence

This result has pissed me off more than just about any game this season and not sure why.

We need to improve on Saturday or we're going to struggle again.

Desperate for a CM to come in.

Think it was the effort shown. We seemingly had no desire to win that and they ran through walls for each other when ever they broke.

Yeah this. The front line in particular looked like they couldn’t be arsed and the back line looked like a bunch of clowns. There was no middle line.

To be fair difficult for the front line when our idea of playing out the back was hoofing the ball to Dasilva or straight to Norwich.

I know this is silly but I thought it was summed up by Lampard having a sulk and not coming over to the 2000 odd fans who made the long journey.

3-4-3 doesn't solve anything on it's own, the number of defenders is not the issue it's the position of the players in front of them.

We basically play with 3 defenders anyway in possession, it is the "donut" shaped hole in front of them that caused the issue last night.

But if we’re changing our midfield because our back 4 can’t defend then you have to look at the back 4 surely, bit too late to do anything about it, still think we’ll get it done but it’s puts a lot of pressure on all of our home games and we’re just about getting away with it at home,

For me it’s changing our midfield to give our back two a chance. We never play with a back 4

My thinking was in the 3-4-3, you’d naturally push the pivot higher up the pitch meaning you wouldn’t have one CM to cover the midfield.

Plus an extra body might mean we have someone to cover when Thomas or Kitching do something stupid.

This was a disappointing result and overall a poor performance. We seemed to be so open as they played through us with ease, and somehow we have to tighten up in this area. Kitchen obviously made a bad error, but mistakes happen and now is not the time to overreact, but to get behind the team and individual players. It’s worth saying that Norwich are a damned sight better than their league position suggests, and with what looks to be a decent manager, they will climb the league table strongly. They had momentum from their game at West Brom, and under the lights at Carrow Road was always going to be difficult. it didn’t help with poor concentration at the start of the second half, and of course the error.

We’re a decent side, but we’re not s good as the 10 or so points clear we were earlier in the season. We have chance of auto promotion primarily because, perhaps apart from Ipswich, there are no stand out teams in the league this year. So all teams will lose games between now and the end of the season, including us, it will be a dog fight to the end of the season. We have work to do, and one or two reinforcements are needed to give us that extra support. We need to improve, primarily defensively throughout the team, but we need to be realistic and get behind the team and individuals for what will be a fraught journey to the end of the season.

That’s absolutely pathetic tbh. He does have a sulky streak in him. Needs to grow up a bit.

Norwich played well and deserved the win. We were overran in Midfield. So much space and they just passed through our gaping lines. Balance or the team was wrong but we were 0-1 up so we should have balanced it second half but I’m talking in hindsight.

Conceding in the first minute or a half is so unprofessional for me. You should be switched on. The whole half time talk and plan goes out the window.

This has been the case for multiple games. it was Ipswich did to us twice. Leicester and so on.

Frank should have by now sorted this issue out

Maybe he can have a few more dinners with PL managers so they can tell him not to leave two thirds of the pitch without a player in.

Yeah. Although we won the last two home games so we’ve kind of been getting away with it. Away from home, different matter.

It’s so obvious. I don’t know why they can’t see it or not change it if they do. We know Grimes sits very deep like a CB so you reply on Torp having to cover so much ground. Football is a simple game. We need to make simple decisions.

What isn’t on Lampard is the individual mistakes though

Some of the reactions I’ve seen are pathetic its humerous, should we have got more from that yes, did Boro lose no they won now they’re only 3 behind us but we have a superior GD, Ipswich lost to Sheffield Utd (10th in the form table) who are in worse form than Norwich (6th in the form table). We still have an 8 point gap to 3rd, all we want is to play Premier League football again, it would be nice to win the title and yes maybe a bottlejob to not win it but we’re still good placed to go up, we have a full squad (minus Dovin) but not a fully fit squad we have players working their way back to fitness and sharpness, it will come, yes we need to address the Midfield, yes I want us to sign a CM but if we dont its not the end of the world this is the same team that started the season after 15 games top with 34pts and a +27GD, we are capable. We’re just out of form and need to rejig a thing or two, and become hard to beat again

Anyone else still fuming with Torp's delivery from that freekick right at the end ? To not even beat the first man from there was criminal

Hit my bed at 02:40 after that last night so maybe I have woke up grouchy, but I am still majorly pissed off at that performance last night, going in 1-0 up at HT flattered us in all honesty, so to concede 30 seconds after the restart which no football team at any level should be doing put us majorly under the cosh and from that point onwards I think we all knew in our hearts where that game was heading

They are a decent side, the form table since Clement got the gig backs that up and it is not so much the result that disappoints me, it was the meek performance, Frank got his tactics and his line up completely wrong and that was the first time I have walked out of a stadium since he got the gig where I thought we could pin a loss on his tactics

Also getting sick and tired of us wasting 45-60 seconds on these long throw ins just for them to hit the first man or the goalies arms, they are okay every once in a while but it is getting nauseating watching us do it every time when teams have seemingly sussed them out

Bitterly disappointing that Ipswich left the door ajar for us and we have failed to capitalise, a win last night would have been a major statement and I think really would have knocked the stuffing out of Ipswich and to a certain extent, despite winning Middlesbrough as well

Great turn out for a horrible journey on a Monday night and some rubbish weather thrown in as well on the inbound journey, they owe us a performance at QPR on Saturday
