This is where the fun begins with having 2 teams play on the same pitch, just heard their game has been called off pitch unplayable?

There is a nice pitch 33 miles away sisu with under soil heating aswell?

Is Northampton the only game off today with this weather? The weather is really bad at the minute,I am surprised there hasn't been any off before now.

The only game I know of that has two clubs playing on the same pitch. But I suppose it makes no difference does it Nick? :thinking about:

Are there any games off where just one team play on it or is it just the one where two teams play?

could end up a right mess if both teams get a couple of home games called off. It has crossed my mind before what happens if their new manager doesn't play hoofball and decides he doesn't want another team playing there. Would assume Cardoza has a get out clause at the end of each season so he could face the choice of kicking us out or upsetting the new manager and, if the manager lets it be known what's happened, probably the fans as well. All hypothetical at the moment of course but would that leave SISU with any other option than to go back to ACL?

As I said Nick I suppose having a pitch played on twice the amount as normal doesn't make any difference does it?

exactly, try playing a passing game with the ball on the floor when the floor resembles a ploughed field. the risk off injury must go up considerably too, that shouldn't worry us either i guess given the strength and depth of our giant squad (i would put a man winking icon here, but this is 2 issues that i am genuinely worried about)

Of course it will make a difference, but the weather is that bad that other games are off too. If it was only sixfields off today then the two teams playing could well be a factor.

I think both sides have a 12 month notice period. All SISUE would have to do would be to pay on rent owed. Not sure how Northampton could get out of it though.

But as Nick says it don't make any difference.

Did you go to the ricoh towards the end of last season?

Where did I say it doesn't make a difference? Making stuff up again? I said if course it makes a difference, read what is written and not what you want to read.

My point is that there are a few games off today so it's hard to say the reason that Northampton game is off is because of the ground share. It won't help the situation of course.

It isn't as much as the games already played there as much as the damage that will be caused now it is saturated. And the groundsman won't have time to repair the damage as others would in between games.

i think there are options at the end of each season but could Cardoza afford the legal cost that sisu might possibly hit him with should HE make the decision that we are not coming back the following season.

Only after repeating the question to you. You were making out as though it wouldn't make a difference.

explain what that has to do with the risk to the CURRENT playing style and the risk to the CURRENT squad?

I wasnt making anything out, you were reading what you wanted to rather than what was actually written. It is a great skill some people have

You asked me a question, I answered it.

Explain to me what the state of the pitch or facilities at the ricoh has to do with the current playing style or squad?

My point was that pressley was moaning about the pitch condition last season at the ricoh.

The game would not get called off if the weather was fine.

The point is correct twice as many games will erode a pitch quicker.

Might be interesting to see how many games were called off at Sixfields last year.

If that is possible to check.

However it is still a good point at the Ricoh this current weather would not cause a cancellation

Maybe the next time there's a SCG meeting someone can ask Fisher if Northampton have any means to terminate the ground share if they wish to and what his back up plan is should that happen.

From what I've heard, only Leyton Orients game is off, because of floodlight damage the other day, was called off yesterday I think.

But don't know why they couldn't kick off at 1.30 or something to compensate for the darkness :thinking about:

But because there are a couple of other games off in the country it means it can't be a factor?

Of course it can be, it could just mean that the weather is generally really bad.

jack all, so why mention the Ricoh at all?

my concern is with the very real consequences that playing on a ploughed field could have to the team. is it a ploughed field yet, i wouldn't know as i will never set foot in the place but it don't take a genius to work out that 2 teams playing on the same pitch every week sometimes more than once each, with little time for repair and recovery with constant wet weather is going to get cut up pretty badly and quickly.

but if you can raise a different agenda from that, then i think you need to start questioning yourself and not me.

Ecky mentioned the ricoh which is why I mentioning that even that got cut up? I think you need to start reading threads properly before questioning maybe?

My point regarding the ricoh was that even that was really cut up last season too with just the one team.

Of course two teams playing on a pitch will mean it gets hammered, just have hope Northampton have good groundsmen. I wonder if by renting there that there are any terms of playing surface conditions..

Because SISU cut back on funds for the pitch. The groundsman is now with ACL keeping the pitch in top condition, with funds available. would be interesting to see if it would hold up any better with a supported groundsman?

I believe in coincidences. If you groundshare your game is off. If you have your own ground the odds are you will be playing.

But you was on about towards the end of the season before the Ricoh started getting bad. We are only half way through the season now and have the bad weather to come yet.

YOU specifically mentioned the ricoh in response to my post. my post wasn't discussing the Ricoh it was discussing the potential extra dangers to our squad and playing style caused by the extra traffic of the ground share.

i dare say the ricoh was no better or worse than any other ground in the country that enjoyed a similar amount of games in similar weather conditions, if it had NTFC ground sharing last season potentially doubling the amount of games played over the season on it, it would have been much worse. FACT.

I agree, you would like to think that with people renting the budget for ground staff would double.
