Clubs like Preston get me, I know they won a lot when cavemen were kicking pterodactyl eggs around... but like, who gives a fuck? Modern day PNE are about the most bland boring Championship club you're going to find.

Sunderland being in the lower leagues is a very recent thing in itself…historically basically never dropped below the second tier. Good people up there, just completely football obsessed.

It’s a shame because he was one of those players who was signed to not much fan fare or expectation, yet for some reason I found myself most excited to see out of all the new recruits

Same. Think it's the exciting sounding name
Quite the opposite of Norman Bassette who sounds like a tractor manufacturing company

I enjoy the Liverpool levels of expectation that their fan base has had for years, it’s what makes them so funny.

This year they have all seemed much more pessimistic about their chances of doing anything, so it would be fitting for them to actually do well this year!

I've nothing against any lowly FL teams, PNE do seem about as boring as it gets but I bet plenty said that about us. I have respect for anyone who follows their local team or a lower team their family has links to.

Have way more issue with the new big teams in the Prem, anyone state owned can feck off. Man City and now Newcastle.

Really dislike Liverpool fans self reverential attitude.

I live in Gloucestershire, a proper Footballing wasteland everyone I went to school with supported Liverpool or Man United, now it's all Man City and Arsenal fans at my lads school. Clouds my view of a lot of people I meet around here.

You don't find many Normans these days.
There was Whiteside and Wisdom of course.
I don't think I'd consider calling a child Norman unless my sir name happened to be Delandings, Conquests or Bates.

I suspect you’re thinking of this. Sheffield United’s Jay McEveley’s assault on Reuben Lamieras

The gates... and that they just sold their best player for £15m. They needed to replace Clarke; we bought Norman for the LoLs. Hopefully he will work out for us but our situation isn't comparable with Sunderland's.

Sunderland are just a neverending cluster fuck
Always seem to be on plan with resources and transfers but have a chairman who thinks he is playing real life FIFA

I don’t know for sure, but I’d back him to be in the bench over Tavares.

Norman is in the picture the flu. Released just now for today’s match. Suspect he will be on the bench.

I'm a little surprised to be honest. Given the competition for places and that he has only been with us a week I was assuming he would sit this one out. It will be interesting to see who is not on the bench.

He can play as a 10 as well apparently. And Asante can play on the left. So I guess that’s how?

It's as if people have already forgotten that last year we had to play MVE or Tavares at right wing for a good chunk of last season.

Haji can also play centrally. So not necessarily. Rotation is quite nice yes, keeps opposition guessing.

Rotation is nice, but we're overloaded upfront compared to other positions, that can't be argued.

Wow, what a nightmare. I’m not going to argue that we’ve got lots of decent options for forward positions on the pitch am I?!
