You don't find many Normans these days.
There was Whiteside and Wisdom of course.
I don't think I'd consider calling a child Norman unless my sir name happened to be Delandings, Conquests or Bates.

Robins said today he’s had another set back and will still be out for a while. It’s in the article attached to this tweet.

It’s a shame because he was one of those players who was signed to not much fan fare or expectation, yet for some reason I found myself most excited to see out of all the new recruits

If it needs an operation he probably won’t be back until after Christmas.

The nice thing is that we can afford to give him time.

With him being out for a while could mean Tavares will be here until next window.

If he's that good we'll buy him when we go up. 90% chance he's a flop if he's going to Blunderland though.

Didn’t Sunderland spend money on forwards last summer as well?

If he's even half the player his Dad was then he'll be good.

Hang on? Sunderland signed a player with 1 good season in the Austrian 2nd tier who is twice as expensive and older and that's a reason to be down on this signing?

Typical of the poster.

Why are you being negative? Makes no sense comparing players who are at different points in their career, we did not need a finished article at twice the price, we needed a backup player to develop. Exactly what we got.

They are at the same point in their careers tbf. This Simic has only played in Croatia, Austria, and Switzerland though so I don't see how anyone can say with certainty how he'll do here. Huge steps up in quality for both.

I think he's changed posting style to troll tbf. Most of it is harmless and fairly obvious.

I did actually think Simic was a bit older but will be 21 in September so a year +. He has played nearly 3 times as much 1st team football and not exactly scored for fun. We'll see who got the better deal

This signing caught everyone on the hop, no one expected it, no press got wind of it, and neither team leaked it.

That's the way business should be done, and it also means that big Doug could have plenty of irons in the fire for all we know.

Trust the process

And tactically aware to the point he may know of movement elsewhere that's of financial interest to us, allowing for a purchase or two-3 before it's done ?

Also it shouldn’t surprise anyone that a club with 40,000 on the gate in the Championship has a few quid to spend.

Bertie is our third choice.

They probably are tbh. Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday also with a claim but Sunderland have won quite a lot. I know there is fuck all to do up there and them and the Geordies are all massive weirdos but their crowds are impressive.

They've also spent 30 more years in the top flight than Leeds..Leeds for the city of it's size should have big support

I have to say though I find arguing about club size totally dull. I'm 40 next year so hardly a spring chicken and I ain't seen them win shit.
History is nice but after a point who cares?
Their crowds are impressive mind. Even though its 95% absolute freaks you can't take that away from them.

Clubs like Preston get me, I know they won a lot when cavemen were kicking pterodactyl eggs around... but like, who gives a fuck? Modern day PNE are about the most bland boring Championship club you're going to find.
