When was the last time?? Can't be bothered to look it up but it's been years I'm sure.

The way Ipswich/Leicester/Southampton have started..and the other Parachute payment team Sheff united. We gotta believe.

Phenomenal job from SO FAR.
And woukd be just unbelievable if there's 2 non Parachute payment clubs going up.

Yup..thanks. any more?? Yes they finished 2nd. Was it Bournemouth?

Whens the last time a non Parachute team won the championship.

but still my point being phenomenal achievement as it looks pretty much odds on both Top 2 could be just that looking at top 6.

It really isn't a level playing field.

Ipswich that season were freaks. They didn't spend what Birmingham /Wrexham have now . Who won't be close to Automtics.

Ipswich did spend big in L1 so it’s a little misleading. Ironically they’ve now spent big on West Brom’s defence, dismantled a fair bit of their promotion side and are struggling to get going.

They eventually will, the depth is too good not to, but it shows how we’re benefiting from everyone already being settled.

All the more reason to make as big of a gap as possible to them.. first results I look for are Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton as history dictates that they will be there or there abouts by the end.. 15pt gap by Xmas to them all would be dreamland

Double header against Ipswich in December will be very interesting.

I think the fact we’ve gone close a few times would stand us in better stead if/when we do go up. Brentford and Brighton had play off heart break, tweaked the squads and were in a much better position to establish themselves as premier league teams when they did go up. Ipswich went up at the first time of asking and clearly weren’t ready.

They are not the team they were 2 seasons ago. Probably do have players with ggreat individual talent, but its not working as a team. Yesterday charlton weathered the storm first half. And then they capitulated a bit like Southampton did at Bristol city..is the Premier League scars?
