He was goodHadji.
He so didNever been able to decide if he meant that chip at Filbert St
He was. Possibly the most naturally gifted player I've seen play for us.He was good
…don’t worry, he hasn’t died! Just trying to add some levity to a depressing Saturday.
Do shareAlso, I have some stories about Noel Whelan, great as a youngish lad way back when, but looking back now, shocking when you think he was a professional footballer

Football can be the beautiful game.Hadji.
Yes a bit of a dick off the pitch. WGS had some good stories about him.
I think he applied but said he didn't even hear back from the club.wwasnt he in the running to be our manager at one point? pre-pressley?
Loved Noel very gifted but in terms of technical proficiency I would put Roland Nillson at the top of my list of players I've been privileged to watch in Sky Blue.He was. Possibly the most naturally gifted player I've seen play for us.
Not to say the most effective, but the most technically proficient.
Agree... his control and posture on the ball was incredible, never panicked just did his job and always found the right passLoved Noel very gifted but in terms of technical proficiency I would put Roland Nillson at the top of my list of players I've been privileged to watch in Sky Blue.
Helped by a block by Whelan on a Man Utd defender giving Huckerby the space to run into. The Huckerby run and goal against Man U was pretty special. Loved the way he played
Did we win 2-1 with the other a brilliant move & finish by Huckerby? The goal he scored away to Southampton in 1998 was world class - one touch football ripped Southampton between Dion and Huckerby and Whelan curled it into the top corner first time from about 25 yards. SBA 'It's just like watching Brazil.' Sensational first half performance that night; Le Tissier scored against us of course
