The rumours can only be wrong. There's no legitimate reason for Villa to give us £2m for him.

More likely to be sign em for longer on wages we can't afford in order to get season tickets sold and sale money for them in January

What about Westwood to QPR and us getting Paddy Kenny giving young Quirke another year to develop

paddy kenny is not the best of keepers the only reason he has looked so good this season is because of the deffence he has had in front of him

i think he is a gonner and you cant blame him if a large club comes in for him. Spurs need him based on another disaterous performance by gomez!!

I'd be happy with him going and Murphy coming in as I was impressed with him at the scunny game, much better distribution and control of the area

Maybe Ranson put this £2million deal in place as his last bit of business?? He did get money for Borrowdale and Gray after all when we gll wondered how he managed it???

Kenny is over-rated - brave, but stupid.

Just let Westwood go and allow City to work on the future. This sort of "will he" / "won't he" is no good to Andy Thorne. He needs to know now. (which I think he actually does - he's just not letting on!)
Taxi for Westwood!

He's also out of the Ireland squad now, so hopefully that puts paid to the speculation of his exclusion on Saturday being anything but a legitimate injury.

It was the lone lap of honour that said it all.

I don't doubt he's leaving, but I've heard theories on him not playing going from Thorn spitefully leaving him out if he didn't sign the contract to Westwood pretending to be hurt. Both theories insulting to either Thorn, Westwood or both.

He is actually out for a while I don't know what the injury is but he has had to pull out of the international matches coming up.

Yeah apparently he's out of Ireland matches up to (and including) the Macedonia match in June!

There's a good offer on the table and he doesn't need a medical here, so if they're was even the slightest doubt about his future, I'm sure he would protect his family (especially with a newborn) and couldn't sign the contract fast enough.

I don't go much with the conspiracy theories but tbh I think it's a good time to have a look at Quirke even if Westy was fit. We can't go down and he can gain some valuable experience and we can assess if he looks like he'll be up to the task. Would be worth seeing O'Donovan and one or two others perhaps tomorrow too.

Does anyone know how old Kirkland was when he became our regular number one? I'm not comparing the two, but saying that age shouldn't prevent you if you're good enough and the money can be spent elsewhere. I've seen nothing from Quirke in albeit a short spell that suggests he isn't up to it.
