He is one of the reasons we were promoted without him notts would have beat us aswell as a vital goal against mk dons he is a quality cf for feeding others in.

Are you referring to Max B if so watch the highlights of the playoff semi vs Notts County. He also brings others into play quite well. I am not convinced about him at this level, if indeed he is the player we knew before injury. However, the club might be right to assess that area of the pitch fully in pre season before we buy another forward. If we can afford to buy proven ability on the back of a Callum Wilson sale I would see the point in going back into the market then tho.

Baka - should improve
Jordy - should improve and got a decent total last season
Connor - can't do any worse and needs to get in the box far more
Max - hard to say but links and holds the ball up better than most in our front line.

Our biggest problem was the lack of creativity, so when teams came and parked the bus, we had no-one with a brain to craft an opening.

When we played footballing side, we generaly did well.

Plus, of course, we had a bobbly pitch. Playing on a football pitch this year will be amazing.

I can't wait for the season to start.

Our creativity was fine our finishing was not. All the stats back it up.

I'm willing to give Chaplin/Baka till Christmas to prove themselves...then bring in a new striker in January.

It will be interesting to see how we line up pre-season and if it will be the same system or if we will go 4-4-2 with out and out wingers.

A lot will depend on Bright or another number 10 coming in. I hope he’s not thinking of playing Chaplin there again.

He can't play Hiwula in the advanced position either, he needs to be running at the goal and not with his back to it.

I'm hoping MR will be drumming into Chaplin to get in the box and making the opposition track him instead of dropping deep. If MR asks him to play that deep role you've got to question MR, but if he asks Chaplin to play up and he keeps dropping back he's got to move him on and look for better options.

With Baka I think he needs to get him more consistent - he's too hot and cold. He also needs to teach him how to use his height to his advantage.

Big pre-season for both of them IMO

I know some don't rate him but Max Biamou has the ingredients of a decent player and in effect would be a new signing as he was out all last season. Question is can he be better than ever in 19/20 Or has the injury taken it till?.

I think Max will become a bench option and potential super-sub (esp to begin with as he comes back from injury).

He'd let us change things up front, with a bit of strength and hold up play so we can go more direct when needed and he tends to score spectacular goals so if we need that spark to get us going he might just provide it. Whether he can be a decent starter in L1? Dunno

Agreed. Initially he'll be very useful to use as a 'Plan B' - a luxury we've often lacked in previous years.

After his goal at Sunderland last season Chaplin can finish in the box, he will come through I’m sure of that, I’d say bright would be the kind of signing that would mean we don’t need another striker! With Max returning and Jodie not far behind him we will be in a good position!

We got past notts due to 3 appalling referee decisions, or have you erased that from your memory?

What were the 3? Can only remember the penalty and their goal in the 2nd leg being chalked off for offside.

Doyle elbow, Max’s 2nd being offside twice.

Max's 2nd were both onside. Can't remember the Doyle elbow, but he got stamped on in the league game, and anyway, their goal in the first leg was offside.

A lot went on in those 2 play off games actually, Davies stamp, Duffy being cynical as fuck, Grimmer being held so he couldn't block the shot for their goal in the 2nd leg, didn't McNulty hit the post twice in the first leg? I'm off to watch the highlights again.

I think Chaplin will come good, Baka I'm not so sure, he doesn't seem to connect with the ball very well when shooting.

It's also easy to forget Chaplin was 21 when we signed him, after that long, drawn out process where the pressure on him to hit the ground running and carry on where McNulty left, was probably unfairly too much.

Chaplin in the 6 yard box finishing crosses from Jobello and Kastaneer is where I think he will be best.
He's 5'6", he won't be finishing off many crosses.
He needs a big striker alongside him, but Robins will only play one up front.
And to all of you claiming he will suddenly 'come good', I'm predicting he won't.

Yet you erase the head butt which would have put them down to 10 men

Panda is rarely wrong. Even if we miss out on TW it suggests we still want a striker.

Everything in football is an 'if' or a 'could'. We coile sign a proven goalscorer next week but then what if they get a ACl injury in preseason?

I tend to have more faith in the people who do this for a living than fans on here. If they believe the players they have signed are more likely to be a success than one single striker I'm inclined to trust in that

Not sure I tend to agree on the view of "fans have zero clue the manager is always right". Personally think it's a stance for those who are afraid to offer an educated opinion and lack the knowledge to do so - no offence intended by the way, I personally just think it's a bizarre view to have when you supposedly follow football. Fair enough if you have faith in Badlan/MR but why take what he says at face value? Just because they work in football doesn't mean you're not allowed an opinion.

If we get an improvement in the goal scoring of the front four, what Badlan said is right. A high profile 20+ goal striker will become heavily marked (sometimes maybe even marked out of a game) but distributing the goals around four gives the opposition the problem of who to mark tightly. We need more goals from strikers, defenders and midfielders. We certainly need more goals from set pieces - especially corners.
