Leon out of City game.

Former Coventry City loanee Leon Barnett has apologised to the referee for throwing the ball at him when he was dismissed in The Canaries 2-0 defeat to Portsmouth on Saturday.

The defender, who is to complete a permant move to Norwich from West Brom in January will now miss out on a return to the Ricoh Arena this coming Saturday and is waiting to hear if the FA will take any further action against him.

Speaking to Norwich's website, Barnett said: "I went in straight after the game to the referee and the gaffer to say sorry for my actions. "I knew immediately that what I did was wrong. "What happened was out of character for me and I wanted to apologise for doing what I did."

This is a plus for us because as we saw last season, he may not be very good with the ball at his feet but he is good at heading - long balls to Platt should be more effective on Saturday now.
