I don't have a problem with the grammar [or lack of it!] - my post refers to the message!

safeee bludz, glad we b usin da propa wurdz now init!

Back on topic, I pay my money, I choose my view and watching the action over banging a board or shouting really loud. I have no issues with the vocal fans, they are great, but saying I'm less of a fan because I like to watch the game and give it my full attention (considering I paid money to do just that I think I should be entitled to do so) is a bit ignorant.

Coventry City fans need to come together and unite behind the club, not bicker over silly things like "I sing, you don't, I'm better". We all go there to show our support for CCFC, we are a diverse fan base and we support the club in diverse differing ways. Neither way is wrong, all the supporters are just as valuable as each other. I don't think I've missed a home game now for over 3 years, am I less of a supporter than someone that goes to 5 games a season but sings?

Unite behind the club, us fans need to get along to try and prove the Ricoh is a good place to be. We may have people looking on here to see if our fans are good people before taking themselves or their family up to a game. Let's set the right impression!

He who doth protest too much!

The opening poster I assume is a master angler. Five pages of people moaning that the opening gambit suggested they weren't as good supporters resulting in everyone feeling the need to insist, explain and prove that they are. I think we all know how ridiculous the suggestion was but the irony of the retorts has brightened my day

No, I was not trying to say I was a better fan because in my opinion no fan is a better fan. That is the point I was making. I go to every home game, I am a good fan. You sing in the corner, you are a good fan. The random man that turns up 5 games a season still shows up and is a good fan. The woman in town that wears a Coventry shirt but doesn't go to games is STILL a good fan. We all contribute to CCFC in our own little way, no fan is better than another fan. We all do our bit, vocal or not, and we should stop bickering amongst ourselves saying people that sing are better than those who don't. We are all good fans of the club, we should just get on with it and support Coventry.

I think the Ricoh is geared up perfectly if it was like this -

  • Keep the JSB's where they are (oposite corner to away fans)
  • Stick away fans in what's currently SG
  • Have the current away end as our KOP - all standing all singing - its where you go if you want to go and get pissed and stand and sing etc...
  • Leave Tesco as is - for the old school who love the club but are in there 50's etc and like to meet there family and have a nice view couple of pints etc..
  • CET - mixture of the above
I'd like to add I cant think of many grounds where they dont have home fans stood behind the goal - the Ricoh does look embarassing at times .
