So as from the end of the year the SCG will be disbanded.
The club are now going to the EFL to find other ways of fulfilling their supporter liason requirements.

The way the crowds are going, they can just ask every fan what they think at half time.

At this rate they will be able to talk to both of them in depth.

Don't think there are many who will be upset to see the end of the SCG.

I would go with something with a more streamlined remit ie: things they can actually have an impact on. Come up with a list of groups you want represented (OAPs, disabled etc) and then ask people to stand for nomination. The fans vote, winner in each group is in. Set a maximum term - although you'd probably want to stagger that at first so you have changes at regular intervals rather than everyone leaving at once.

Trust has been pushing this "independent" supporters organisation to reform as it doesn't represent anyone and in its current format serves no purpose. Now the club has disbanded this "independent" group with no consultation to the members except Chairman Strange who agreed. Let's hope we can now reform something meaningful following EFL guidelines.

Shame really. As much as it needed reform it was the only direct route to the club from the fans and vice versa. I know that some of us did make a difference and helped the fanbase at some point. Hopefully a new better version will be launched asap

What did the SCG ever do for us?

nice to see that there was proper discussion on the decision to disband or to reconstitute. Says it all that it was the club and Strange who decided.

Having said that the SCG in its current form was gravely flawed and very poorly led. It was a good idea made worthless.

Should it be the clubs decision as to the form of any liason group? Does it need to or should it be independent of CCFC control? I think it should be

I do hope the likes of Strange are not involved in the future.

It won't be a loss.

Anybody involved in any sort of new group needs to state who they represent and put a case forward on how they will help.

1 warning then out on the politics and willy waving shit.

Everything also needs to be constructive.

The SCG hasn't worked for a while now, so I'm not over bothered by this decision as long as they replace it with something more meaningful.

They could even double it up as a money maker for the revenues.

Do it as a fans meeting type thing at a place such as the Butts, get the bar on as well as some food and charge for a ticket

I think the SCG could be replaced with decent PR and communication though to be honest.

Could be. Been asking Mr Strange for weeks about what is going on for the elections for Chair and Vice without any luck and maybe today's news is why. If that is the case I'll be annoyed even more. It means either he's known for all that time (unlikely) or the club have told him to hold back with the plans. If so it says everything about what was wrong with it.

What's the betting Strange is asked to chair any new set up because of his previous experience.

Where was it announced?

The SCG was not representative of the majority of fans and did little in building relationships amongst fan groups or with the club. It had no power, the wrong person was in charge and did not ask the right questions of the club representatives. It was always going to be doomed or ineffective.

But such a shame to see it go as it was amusing watching it implode and the angst coming from Strange (musician, author & Sky Blues International representative), taking everything personally and acting as a spokesperson for the club, taking the club line on virtually all occasions, it was like a bad sitcom.

Fisher spoke about improving communications. He'll make strange head of this. If not, he'll appoint him to identify every fan who went on the pitch and hang, draw, and quarter them. Has to be one of the two... :-;

Don't panic. There always seems to be sheep available. Can't help but think that this is all an elaborate plan to get rid of the disagreeable voices of the SCG. The next group I suspect will be very select.

So the new group will have a zero credibility level,
what planet is Fisher on, imho, he has made it perfectly clear that he hates CCFC fans.
Will the EFL tolerate this ?

Then it will again have no credibility.
They probably disbanded because non of his mates were prepared to be chair or vice chair anymore.
So they may have ended up with someone who asks the harder questions if the owners that the fans do actually want asking.

Any new group should never include the pompoous self important fool called strange.........could have been talking about fisher then, no wonder they get on so well.
Who does strange think he was representing other than his own bloated ego for it was certainly not any Sky Blue fan

some thoughts on the replacement

There were some good people involved in the SCG but that got buried under a landslide of ego and a reluctance to speak up

so the new set up
- It should cover the match day experience
- it should not exclude providing a two way dialogue on team performance or club finances - both are important to the fans
- it should have the opportunity to challenge what it is told, and be challenged on what it does. It must relay fans concerns, thoughts, congratualtions to the club or vice versa and provide feedback
- be open, transparent and timely in what it does
- it must be independent of the club, however that does not mean the club should not support its cost or include relevant space on the club website. The EFL expect the club to liase well with its fans take them seriously and act on things where appropriate.
- the members must be seen to represent someone other than just themselves.Be able substantiate who they represent and demonstrate contact, representation and relaying of information.
- it should sign off its own minutes. If it is confidential and can not be told to the fans dont say it - do not get in to the position of ego because they know something the rest do not. If amendments are requested but not agreed then that disagreement must be included in the minutes
- it should include the following The Trust, the London Supporters Group, the Diamond club, JSB/tickets for schools, but also represent other groups so that it can demonstrate equality, diversity etc. No group gets more than one place.
- it must be a clean start, and that means consulting with fans as to how they want to be represented and the format adopted. The club must not simply impose it and expect it to work.
- New members can be elected to the group once they prove the above as to who they represent
- a director should attend every meeting and bring others from the club with him/her as the agenda dictates
- the club has to take the group seriously. The fans need to feel represented and heard

It should not
- deal with personal issues or personal ego
- deal with issues regarding ownership changes
- disclose correspondence that is not addressed to it
- be used to bully any party individual or organisation
- it should not compromise its position by jollies in the board room. Attendance at the odd directors meeting is ok in theory but does it actually achieve anything
- be a propaganda mouth piece for any organisation, but a place for reasonable and reasoned debate and dialogue

I think it should meet the club every other month (6 times pa) unless there is an exceptional need.
The intervening months should be used for the group to meet without the club to agree an agenda to be put forward to the club for the following months meeting

It will need a strong Chairperson. It needs a clean break from the past
the chairperson is not authorised to issue statements unless content is cleared by the group to do so

I would think the club could use its database to contact supporters so that those supporters choose the group they wish to represent them. Each group can then elect or if necessary take a volunteer to represent them.

Obviously not every one will agree with the above, and some of it may be difficult to achieve ........ but thats my two cents

It wouldn't be hard to set up a simple webpage with a few questions about yourself and at the end it says "this is the best rep for you, here are their details to get in touch" with a bit about them.

With Jonathon Strange giving up the chairmanship and that chair elect Garlick woman not standing, low and behold they disband the SCG, better that than having an undesirable elected as chairman asking the awkward questions eh! Why let it disband ? Carry on ffs! Is Fisher needed there for it to continue, ? Is it his and his alone organisation ? In my opinion the SCG should carry on. Fuck em !
