...from Cyrus Christie! Pre-season against Norwich he failed to beat the 1st man with his cross despite doing all the hard work down the flank. Today boy-oh-boy his crossing was superb...especially the one that landing on Juke's outstretched foot. He's obviously been working on his crossing and the outcome today (inc. his MOTM award) was testament to his hard work and coaching in this short period of time...keep it up Cyrus

Him and hussey were fantastic going forward and solid in a defensive way.
I thought both of there crossing was pin point, much improved from the norwich game and the other pre season matches were Cyrus couldn't get the ball of the floor.

Agreed, his crossing was much better today. Husseys was great first half, but he over-hit a fair few in the second. All told, I thought Hussey was superb defensively as well. This aspect of his game is getting better every week, and it was once his weakness. He was helped by Baker having a better game today and offering some protection and a passing option.

Christie crossing was great, Hussey's crossing was poor imo. A problem with Hussey is that he often crosses from far too deep closer to the half way line than the by line often when he crosses.

Christie looks an amazing prospect. I'm totally shocked by how good he's been, I never had him down as one of the youngsters who'd go on to big things.

Throw in the fact that up until this season he's been a centre back and you've got quite a prospect.

Yes but when he doesn't over hit them he can get a cracking curve from that angle. He just needs to go "down a club". He delivered 3 cracking crosses from deep in the first half that on another day could have led to goals. Having seen some of Codys headed goals, once fit he and Lukas attacking the area are great targets for deep crosses. Plus Hussey contributed a few cracking assists from deep positions last season.

Also, bear in mind that it's very difficult for Hussey to bomb on too much at times. His lack of support or options outside him often force him inside onto his wrong foot, so he's got to try and get the ball in when he can. I also think we were under instructions to be a tad more direct, and AT got the balance bang-on. He's learning as a manager, and he was already a good one-just inexperienced.

Agree with you on Christie's crosses, but Hussey completely overhit most of his. Have to admit the pen was a great piece of theatrics from Keogh....he was on his way down before their guy got near him. Lucky to get away with that one! However, a much needed 3 points.

Yea I would just like to see Hussey try and get a bit further down the pitch instead of hitting crosses from deep. I do think Hussey is a good player though.

We nees toget him signed up i think his deal runs out in the summer ,wheres clark gonna play when he's fit?the whole game transformed with the goalie switch ,distribution was more direct and got jukey right into the game,making the midfielders work in the oppo half far more.

He played centre back and right back in the woodlands school team (housemate managed that year group)....thy had another player in that school team a lot better than Cyrus apparently...Jordy Graham, at the villa but is tipped as an England player
