I did really like Noel as a player but other than appear on Celebrity Masterchef what has he done since?

It would be nice to have had a naturally talented footballer coaching the players.

Well, he has got his coaching badges and been working at Derby.

I thought coaching badges were important to you? A least it appeared so when Thorn didn't have all his...

No Thorn can have all the coaching badges he likes - all it proves in both instances is you need an IQ of less than one to attain them. Anyway I think you will find that I, Grendel, have never actually said that.

You can do it on the same PC as long as the user name has a different e-mail account. The only reason I changes was due to a work audit and I was "advised" that I should not use work e-mail accounts to access social network sites hence the new username. I thought one rebirth just to show how easy it is was worth it.

Anyway lots of people have been sending me PM's saying they love the new identity as it reminds them of the musical genius that is Marillion. Torchy in particular seems obsessed with them.

It's a shame that we have no coaching to help the strikers though. I mean, Thorn was a defender and he's been joined by Shaw, a defender. A significant role being played by Oggy, a keeper, and special responsibilities now for Carsley, a defensive midfielder. And the academy run by Gregor Rioch, a defender.

And this at the club who scored less goals than any other in the league...

Mourinho wasn't a naturally talented footballer and he's done ok as a coach.

Good footballer doesn't always make good coach. Kicking in a window and having to live with Strachs cos he couldn't cope with the pressures of being a premier league footballer hardly ticks many boxes as well.

He was my favourite player, but I wouldn't give him a job.

Two kids later, settled with his wife, realizes them "good old days" have gone, he deserves a chance to prove himself somewhere surely?

P.S he was my favourite player too.

I liked Whelan as a player, but (assuming that's him) he has come across as a bit whiny and self-serving. Waiting to hear about a job you've put yourself forward for, it's probably not the best idea to bitch about the potential employers to all and sundry. As loathe as I am to equate football to a 'real' job, you'd be forever on the dole if you carried on like that.
