Not to say he's not a fantastic player but it's horses for courses and it didnt seem to work as well. We are also just blessed to have a mass of better talent in his role for England. No Maddison doesn't get in ahead of them but neither does Alexander-Arnold & there are better options at right back as well. They've either shown no form or simply not shown this season. Maguire, apart from his goal was bang average in the semi and was only in the team because they had an injury crisis, Shaw is a crock and Grealish hardly played for Manx Shitty towards the final third of the season.
There are/is more than very capable alternatives for each of those players.
It's a fact that we have a glut of talented midfielders and it's unfortunate that Maddison is the one that's misses out but I'm biased because he's a Cov kid like us all and I can't see further than that

Im pretty sure it is right to include Grealish, hes just won the premier league again and won the champions league last year.
