City not appealing decision
Coventry City will not be appealing over Marlon King's dismissal in the 59th minute of City's 1-1 home draw with Ipswich Town this afternoon.

Referee Russell Booth, who was slated by the City support for his inconsistency and poor decisions which cost City two points, sent King off for a two footed tackle.

However, City boss Aidy Boothroyd has said the club will not be appealing and told the Press Association: "It was a typical striker's tackle. It was over exuberance. You can see how hard he is working for the club and for the team and there was nothing malicious. "If you take two feet off the ground, the letter of the law says it is a sending off even though there was no intent. Sometimes they go for you and sometimes they go against you but we won't be appealing, there is no point."

I couldn't stop laughing at the amount of abuse the ref got today... Got a huge buzz though when Marlon got the standing ovation as he was leaving the field.

Shame we're not appealing as I could see it getting overturned maybe? Although for what he's done, it wouldn't surprise me if the FA ban him longer for just appealing as we all know what those tool's are like.

Like Aidy said theirs no point in appealing.... by the law of the book refs have to give red cards for two footed challenges... was a soft one thou and the player was rolling around like he had been shot he deserved the abuse he got & Marlon deserved the support he got cause hes been playing terrific.... I think we are going to miss him for the next 3 games but Freddy looked on fire today! definetly Man of the Match in my opinion.

Super, Super Fred, Super, Super Fred, Super, Super Fred, Super Freddy Eastwood!!!

Aye, we will definately miss him as he's a big part in our side now, but I must say, Freddy looks in fine form under Aidy. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways now and pull away from the pack below us.

I think Boothroyd never really says what he thinks to the press. He should take a leaf out of Warnocks book who has called Grant Holt a cheat

Good to see Freddy back ~ Him and Platt were working well together when he got injured.
