Mmm...someone posted this on Twitter:

Nick Barmby has signed a three year deal and will bring Dean Windass as his number two. #pusb #ccfc

It must be bollocks as surely they haven't sifted through those 40 "Quality" CVs yet!

Fucking hell. We're not in the Premiership anymore. He has managed in the Championship before and done a good job at Hull.

Meh...he did get sacked by Hull, but was this more due to a row with the board?

Was a manager for about 6 months wasn't he before getting sacked? Would prefer Phil Brown who has got more experience and achieved greater success....and I don't want Phil Brown at all.

Don't think he'd be bad. Hull were awful when he took over, from what I remember. He got them playing well. Wasn't sacked for footballing reasons.

I'll answer my own Q: Danny S White says so...

He also says that Elliott has handed in a transfer request and will sign for PNE in the summer.

The rest of his feed doesn't fill me with confidence about his insider credentials, although if we did end up with Barmby he could nail me with 'apologises please?' #muppett'

Very inexperienced, started off well at Hull but then it went bad. He was sacked for comments about the board (they weren't even bad) but I seem to remember the results had already dried up for him by then. He was manager when we beat them 2-0 away last season.

Not someone I would get over excited by but I would prefer him over Brown and the usual dross

Went through that and when I went to place a bet on Barmby it was offering 2/1...

Didn't he "ask for assurances", but those assurances weren't met?

I remember listening to the interview, he literally said something like if the club wants to move forward the owners need to invest in the playing squad and he was sacked for it.

Thorns rant at the end of last season was worse

I did think about him before. Think he may be alright

About time we went for a short fair haired northern striker.

Why would he hand in a transfer request when he will be out of contract anyway?

Bullshit again.... Lol

Before we get carried away... Like all potential managers who want to the job will attend games up until their interview so that they can impress and get an idea of the team, weaknesses and strengths etc. all part of research.

Last few games home and away there have been a host of out of work managers watching Coventry because they have applied for the job.

Like with Robins last year we didn't have a clue.

Yes fair comment just behind the front two was his best position

Better than some of the options.

I wouldn't be overwhelmed by it, but I thought the same about Robins.
