If the club did this, I would sign up to this idea. Nice one, Brody!!

Brody cites the ideas of a Community Share Ticket as one example of new thinking.
“All clxubs have supporters scattered across the globe and they would probably never think of buying a season ticket.
"But what if they bought one and donated it back to a charity close to the club which meant that children, for example, supported by the charity, could attend games?
“Then if they did happen to visit the club for a match, we put them in a box or the boardroom as a thank you and treat them to a very special day.
“They would be doing real and telling good for their home town, while the club would be bringing in children who could become the supporters of the future.”

Nice idea from Brody

I have to agree. I live in London and can get to maybe 3 or 4 games a season due to work commitments, but would happily spend £300 for a season ticket if I could justify it.

Why would you buy a season ticket for someone else to use. If you wanna go corporate once or twice a year, get 11 friends together and it'll cost you about 70quid each.

The idea is that it's more a charitable donation that you can also get something out of.

This offer is obviously not for people like myself who can just about afford one for me and my son but more for people who do have a fair income. People who would find it value for money with the reward of upgraded seating and giving to the community. I would do it in a heartbeat if I could but charity starts at home and I'm sure the board realise this.

If the scheme only attracts five takers, those five kids could become lifelong fans and not gloryhunters.

It is a nice idea but who would pay £300 if they live in New Zealand or America just so somebody else could go? Why don't the board made up of millionaires do it?

It is just a money making scheme that gives them PR. If they are being so charitable why not give them away?

Will anybody fork out £300 so some scally can go to the game every week?

Tough crowd.

Clearly Brody (as all directors should) is wanting to get more money into the club, with the added benefit of bigger crowds and a better atmosphere.

I can't see these tickets being given away to scumbags, more likely they could be given to people who give to charity. Good to see a director being pro active in trying to change things with this club, it NEEDS to.

In recent seasons I've took my sons friends to games, kids who are from single parent families who can't afford the lay out on tickets. Good kids, who don't get taken to matches normally. One loved it and has asked his mum for a season ticket but she hasn't been forthcoming, she is on her own with two kids so I can't push the issue. I'd love to buy him one but like I said before, I can just cover my family. This scheme would benefit a kid like him if someone with my attitude but a better bank balance gets involved.

Some need to open their mind to PR, it's not all bad and with the right use of PR you can manipulate many markets for the benefit of the club.

Well said, Tippex. Brody is no Jimmy Hill, but he's definitely trying to get something going. I'm not sure how effective this will be, but it's a start.

I think it's a great idea, if you've got the money. They're not pushing it on Joe Average who ain't got the cash. It's a novel way to get some money into the club and then use it to cultivate a new generation of City fans.

Good cause to get more kids at games for the future but I doubt many of us are in the position to shell out £300 for charity. The only feesable way something like this could work is if there was a donation envelope in the match day programmes for this cause which fans could put a couple of quid in and then be able to drop this off at various points in the ground. If anyone further a field or abroad should be able to make a donation say by credit card through the club website but to ask for £300 its not going to work. Just think 10000 fans put a quid in thats a fair few kids able to go to games. As long as the club partly subsidise this I don't want the club to take the money and think we will use it to fill up the boxes and charge full rate. Also if I was a kid and I could go to one game in a box or go and watch 10 games in the stand I know what I would have chose.

Lets be honest its not an idea thats going to add 5k on the gate every week. Thats the sort of idea they should be trying to come up.

Didn't Jimmy Hill do something as simple as giving kids a free bottle of pop and a bag of crisps for going. I reckon that would get more ppl going!!

I think it was Bradford who did an idea a few years back where if they sold 10,000 season tickets the price of each ticket would be lower.
