Ok as someone who spends a lot of time focussed on the finances I think i will try and change the suject ....... talk about the real interest we all have in CCFC....... FOOTBALL

What do we think are the prospects for the next two games both of which are cup games.

Morecambe - as always with CCFC there is the fear of a banana skin but really we should be looking at a win without a replay. we havent lost all the players we might cup tied but DMG is a loss. Surely though with our new confidence we should do the business in this one. I am not btw taking Morecambe lightly

Sheffield United. They are going well in the division and should be a far tougher proposition. They dont get beaten easily, have a decent team and work hard. It is a good stepping stone towards Wembley but it isnt going to be easy. DMG should be back and that will boost us. However if we dont perform against Morecambe then it wont be easy to recover and it could cost us. Even if we win saturday Sheff United is a tough game (but winnable)

We are very capable of winning both but if looking at it with out skyblue glasses then i can see us win in the FA cup but narrowly lose in the JPT.

Thoughts?

If we could only win one, i would take Tuesdays JTP! But anything less than a victory tomorrow is criminal!!

I agree with you, OSB. Saturday's game should be relatively easy (I know we've lost 'relatively easy' games in the past, but even so...) but Sheff U in the JPT is another matter. That will be a tough game, and a measure of any progress we've made since MR came in.

We will definitely have a stronger 11 on Tuesday, with McGoaldrick, Bailey and Murphy returning :)

They're both important for financial reasons ,sorry bring that into it OSB .

We should be strong enough on saturday, might even get to see some of this young lobjoit fella MR is

bigging up in todays CT.

Tueaday, when I think of the first home match of the season was a good match up and we were really

good enough for a positive result, only the eweakness down our righthand side cost us.

I expect us to be better this time ,momentum is important and if maintained any one who wants to

dream will think up and onwards for the playoffs ,what a great rehearsal A trip to Cardiff

(some other Cup I think) would be !!:)

Hi Morecambe fan in peace,
I think tomorrow might be a harder game then some people think... in the last five years we have beaten Wolves AWAY,Preston AWAY,Barnsley AWAY and only this season we beat Blackpool AWAY.
looking forward to the day! any decent pubs that away fans can go in?

No decent pubs anywhere near, costs a fortune to park, once inside u'll think the ground is a morgue and wish you hadn't bothered going

Depends what you're looking for ,theres the ROAB club on Foleshill Rd parking for £3 decent beer and welcoming of away fans ,or the Casino within the Stadium complex.

No like i say not taking Morecambe lightly, certainly wont be easy and home form isnt great. They are going well, and have a decent recent cup record. But we still ought to be thinking we can win it. Hope its a good game but I still think we should edge it.

Could try the Longford Engine on Londgford Rd decent pint and short walk to the ground. Seem to welcome home and away supporters.

The only thing I know about Morecambe is that I can see it from where I live on a clear day. Takes over an hour to get there though.

Sheffield aren't doing great away from home though atm they have lost 2 of their last 4 away hopefully we can make it 3 out of 5 :D

As with any cup game anyone can win on the day, the thing is we are on a fairly decent run but are playing better away , so who knows but I have a feeling we will do well to win either of these games

Didn't we play Morecombe a couple of years back when Boothroyd was in charge? Didn't we lose that game? Was a league cup game if I recall correctly. I think Morecombe will pose a decent threat and should be a close game, but this time we have a team that's more confident than in recent years so hopefully a win. Really doesn't sit well hoping for a home win.... hmmm..

Sheff Utd: I think this game could make or break the season. A good win will do massive amounts for home confidence I feel and any slight sniff of success will help bring some stay away fans back. If we lose, depending on tomorrows result, the season could be over. No more cups, only the league left and the play-offs are a long shot. That being said it could also be a blessing in disguise (more focus on the league) and we could go unbeaten for the rest of the season.

should be about 700-800 Morecambe fans making the trip! we dont have the largest away support but we will make a noise.

If you only bought 100 you would still make more noise than us.

I don't expect more than 5,000 crowd so it will be even quieter than usual.

Our home form isn't the best but I still expect to win.
