Sky Blues chief reveals club in "negotiations" for Ricoh return

Interesting that its now 'negotiations' and not just the usual we keep in touch stuff from Boddy. Hopefully something can be agreed soon so tickets can go on sale for next season!

As its Tim fisher we shouldn't believe everything mind!

I once got told directly by TF that the site for our new stadium was due to be agreed in 3 weeks.

That was over 6 years ago.

I'll believe it when I'm sitting in my usual seat.

Not keen on the bit about casting doubt over our ability to continue as a going concern. We don't need to be encouraging the trust to be telling Wasps to play hardball.

Will that matter? Wasps are going to play hardball regardless of what the Trust do or say.

Yes. What I fear more is not being able to agree a sustainable deal and we need our own ground to move forward and get back where we once were

Yeah i get what you are saying but I'd rather be at the ricoh exploring the options of a new stadium instead of Brum.... surely being at brum is costing us more than at the ricoh

You’d think significantly more. Especially the season we’re having. Even at £10 average a ticket 10000 tickets is £100k.

It's the only basket in town so there's no other feasible option.

That's been in there for sometime, caveated with the promise by the owners to put in additional funds if necessary. Just saying that if they don't the club is unlikely to be able to meet it's commitments, which is true and the auditors are duty bound to say as such in their report.

Fucking hell, always looking for the negative in everything

“Therefore, at the date of approval of these financial statements, there remains uncertainty regarding the outcome of these negotiations.

I ain't saying the telegraph get everything right because they don't! But maybe have some hope?

I get the point buy how many games this season would we have had 10k more fans at a game at the Ricoh?

Do we know how much the rent on the Ricoh was v what it is now at Stans?

It doesn't say we are in negotiations.

Maybe untold millions more if we had signed to take on losses defined by the EU courts.

We've probably lost 5-6k on average, so 22 x 6 x 10 = £1,320,000 over a season top end of that. I can’t imagine the rent was more than that at the Ricoh, though rents hardly the issue stopping us.

Yes, that still doesn't say there are currently negotiations does it? However the telegraph have spun it to get a story.

We probably wouldn't, but wed have had 5k more at £20 a ticket, so pretty much the same.

Average ticket income at the Ricoh was £10ish IIRC. Once you average out freebies and discounts and that.
