Excluding most people who seem to want ricketts as our next manager who realistically should we go for to try build a squad capable of pushing for promotion out on league 2 next season?

Yes man and someone cheap. Only on a six month contract so we can dump them if we hit skid row by Xmas.

I'd go for a manager a month 30 day contract each, if we get one win a month with the hopeful bounce it's 30 points closer to safety, maybe one or two will get back to back wins or draws also....
Throw in a last day thriller to stay up... a successful season.

Donald Trump. He'll make Coventry City great again, boost our defence spending and ignore the environment.

I don't think people do want Ricketts. They are just saying that is who we will probably end up with.

We're that bad I would even take Presley back till the end of the season.

Slade has to go - no two ways about it

Just thinking he will not get another club based on current situation, no one else will want the job, owners will be happy to keep him on! Win/Win for both

He'd get league one or any league two offers easy in the summer and most likely do what he's done before like at Orient, Grimsby and Yeovil.
Teams would take a chance on him building something, with a more solid base behind him.
Not many clubs are out there like ours.

I definitely dont want Ricketts but if slade is to go and thats what our glorious owners are deciding put him in charge until end of season and see if he has what it takes or is another Richard Shaw.. I know what I think although he would probably be better than Shaw

When Slade goes l don't nesaserily want Ricketts more than anyone else to get the job but should he do so and to me that looks likely I'm quiet prepared to give him a fair crack of the whip and not expect to be Barcelona overnight like some on here. Wouldn't mind those two at Lincoln who look likely for better things but while we have this owner and especially Tim Fisher here any from outside the club will struggle to be honest.

I totally agree, I have said Pressley for league 2 would be ideal

I think he should be given another shot. Lets be honest there is no one that is "realistically" better for a league 2 club at the moment.

Just not Russell Slade.

Pressley was the worst manager we've had in my living memory, not just because of results (although they were bad) but because of the absolute pile of dog plop football that we played. I would rather give up football altogether than watch him serve up the vomit inducing style of play again.

Edit: It was a toss-up between Pressley, McAllister and Thorn, and all three were terrible, but Pressley nearly killed my love of the game so for that reason alone I plumped for him.

I would do anything to have someone like Pressley currently, Slade has as much passion as Tim Sherwood when he played for us!

I would draw a face on my ball sack, dress it in a tracksuit, stick it the dugout and let it be the new manager in preference to slade.

Are we forgetting the Pressley had an awful recruitment record when here and from what I recall, couldn't be bothered to get a scouting system in place?

Nice guy and all that but back here? No chance...

I can see by the fair crack of the whip you've given Slade, that you're not prone to rush to judgement...

Slade makes Pressley look like Guardiola!!! Slade is the worst manager in our history - he's one one game in 14 league games, that's a 7% win ratio for fucks sake - fucking pathetic!!!

Who is our Youth Team Manager ? He seems to have the ability to build a successful team. Why not give him a chance ?
