Leyton orient, Walsall, Bristol, Notts County.

First two are going to be tough games, Bristol and Notts county I am more confident about. What do you think guys? 8 points out of 12 there doable?

Yeah you're right. I saw someone earlier say we need to average 2.2 (or something) points a game to have a chance of playoffs. As much as I'd love it I just don't see it happening. Sigh

I think we've had some incredible luck this season with results, alongside some very gutsy and impressive performances. The luck of course is long overdue, but I feel it will fade now in the second half of this season. We will be safe (on the pitch at least) From those four games mentioned - two draws, two defeats.

40 points from 20 games will see us there or thereabouts -74 is usually enough
That is still going to be tough
win 12 draw 4 lose 4

i would expect us to do something like win 9 draw 6 lose 5 . Which would be 69 points and have us 7th or 8th

we really need a run of 5 or 6 wins on the bounce to swing it in our favour

If McGregor leaves N County, I'll feel happier. If Emmanuel Thomas is out for Bristol City, same applies.
All four games tough IMHO

We'll win the first two to get everyone's hopes up then get hammered in the next two and everyone goes into mad depression and 17 threads about ACL/sisu will be coming up every hour.

I don't think the squad's attitude could be any better (with the exception of Mr L Clarke), what we lack at the moment quite simply is numbers and quality. If we fix that over the coming weeks I would expect results to improve but if they don't, it won't be the fault of anybody but the owners.

We will lose to Bristol and notts and beat orient and Walsall 2 steps forward 3steps back it's what our season is like. We just cannot put the magic 4wins on the trot to move us up

If we have any hope of getting into playoffs 8 points a required at a minimum. Whole season hangs on how Clarke plays, how long he stays and our reaction.

Personally, I think we're too far behind and even with reinforcements we will struggle to reach play offs. We've been scoring goals for fun all season, but continue to leak goals, we now need 41-42 points from 20 games which is virtually title winning form.

Even after our incredible season, we're only 1 point nearer 6th than we were before a ball was even kicked this season.

Agreed, its too much now. We've yet to see who Elvis brings in of course, which will have a bearing. If we did pull it off I would be starting to think Pressley has super powers.

4 tough games, but there are no nailed on easy ones any more.

The turning point will be what squad we have by the time we get to Notts County!

The approach has from day 1 been to focus on outscoring the opposition, simply because a young team can't be expected to keep things tight or see games out effectively. What is so, so frustrating is that, for reasons still made unclear, our play-off chances are crippled by ACL's decision to refuse the CVA offered last summer-but for that we would be right in there.

Agreed, I don't want this going down another CVA argument, but I still don't see what they gained from that, even in a business perspective.

Yeah, agree about us trying to out score, and I'm not having ago at the tactics but the fact is we concede too many goals which is why we've found it hard to go on a run. If we can keep the nucleus of the squad together next season, I'd expect some of that naivety to lessen.

Why are you so determined to deduct another point off us. We are on 34 points and 6th place are on 42 points, therefore the difference is 8 points not 9 points as you have said about 12 times in the last 24 points

What gives me hope in achieving the unexpected is Pressley's (and players) never give up/never say die attitude gathering seemingly impossible points at the end of 90+ minutes.

However we sometimes let things go at the other end which is a pain but look at the positives Pressley talks a good fight, motivates his players and is inspirational in continuing this attractive style of play which often springs surprises - long may it continue.

Bring some quality striker(s) in and win at Orient and we'd have a chance. Need a 5 game winning run to get back into it.
