Oxford (H)
Middlesborough (H)
WBA (A)
Sheffield united (A)
Stoke (H)

I am worried about these Oxford win, Boro Loss, WBA win, SU Draw, Stoke Win, ambitious but, hopefully 10 points from 15?

Need 9 from the next 3 ideally. We've got very little margin for error now.
Sheff U will be tough, should turn Stoke over.

You just know we are going to turn up to The Hawthorns, put our usual meek performance in and let the worst West Bromwich Albion side since they were in the third division tickle our tummies and probably giving that clown in charge of them his first and only win

I do not even want to comprehend going to Bramall Lane and COH sticking the knife in

Oxford (H) - Win should have too much for them.
Middlesborough (H) - Win - big game under the lights at home, everyone on cov twitter starts being massive pricks about us going up rather than being massive pricks about us needing 17 new players.
WBA (A) - Win - we have to win an away game at some point and they're falling to pieces.
Sheffield united (A) - Lose - the world is once again ending - the gap to 2nd is now only 3 points, frank lampard needs to be shot.
Stoke (H) - Win - We are once again going up, the rot is over and we're all the way back.

I'm not particularly confident that 'we don't need to worry about away results because we don't lose at home' will still be a thing in two games time.

Yeah, if we can get 10 from these, we'd then need 20 points from the last 11 to get us to 88 points. I'd fail to see how that wouldn't get us promoted.

We'd then had the following home games left:

Preston
Southampton
Derby
Sheff Weds
Pompey
Wrexham

And away games vs:

Bristol City
Swansea
Hull
Blackburn
Watford

If we got 10 points from the next 5 and then beat Preston, Soton, Derby, Sheff Weds and Pompey, that would give us 83 points.

Then you'd want 2-5 from Wrexham (h) and the 5 away games.

I've only seen bits of their recent games but they were very lucky to beat WBA and Stoke.

Sheff U, us and Birmingham away are very tough. For all the doom and gloom about our form we've lost 3 home league games in 15 months. Two nice home games for Middlesbrough in amongst the away games though granted.

So all the games in hand teams play tomorrow night, Blackburn v Sheffield Weds, Hull v Watford, Portsmouth v Ipswich and Sheffield Utd v Oxford.
We will have a clearer picture of what’s needed to keep ahead of them.

Would it destroy our confidence if we dropped to 2nd for a couple of games? IF Boro went top would they then suffer like we have from the pressure, we know it’s easier to chase than defend a lead.

As long as we keep ahead of 3rd, I’m ok with going up in 2nd place, don’t need a title just promotion.

Oxford W
Boro L
WBA L
Sheff Utd L
Stoke W

Boro will tear us to pieces, narrow defeat at a dreadful West Brom, torn apart at Sheff Utd then should see off Stoke. I can’t see any better than that, we are not getting out of this rut as the manager refuses to adapt and the players look devoid of confidence and energy.

Feel free to bookmark the post, I’ve explained my reasoning. QPR were in dreadful form with a whole load of injuries, we went in front and still lost playing terrible football.

In fact I’ll go one further: we will not win another away game this season.

Don't see Boro tearing us to pieces, think they've had lucky moments in their recent away games, which happens when you are flying. We're certainly better than WBA and Stoke, even now.

The warning signs were there against Lesta and Millwall, a combination of Rushworth and poor finishing kept them to one goal. Boro are brimming with confidence and their manager is adaptable to what’s going on during matches.

I just can’t see them not winning as we will again gift them loads of space in midfield. It could well be a proper mauling.

Should do yes. Let's be honest views on subsequent games are best informed by the game immediately prior. You never know what is going to happen.

10 points with a win v boro
boro can then only overtake us winning the other 4

Hull would need 16 points from 6 (their next 4 are at home !!)
Ipswich would need 6 out of 6

so 3 wins, a draw and a defeat, and we should be top going into the last 10

I feel like every game is a must win at this point. Despite the bargaining brigade trying to paint the picture that all is fine, we have completely blown our lead, and the automatic position race has been opened wide. You have 'Boro, Ipswich, and Hull breathing down our necks. Lose the next couple and I suspect we will drop down into a playoff position.

We have to get at least 10 points if not 12 if we have serious aspirations of the autos.

3 tough games in there for them, and Leicester are also capable of beating them.
