Southend A
Rochdale A
Rotherham H

Remaining games this month. 6 out of 9 would be fantastic. 4 out 9 minimum.

The big one. Rotherham. Jeez! I remember the "big one" would be against Man Utd or Liverpool. What have we sunk to? Can't wait to get back to the Prem!

Why am I more worried about coming a cropper against a bottom of the league bunch of cloggers?

Feel like we are a match for anyone in this league just need to keep focus.

Should be winning those next two fairly comfortably. Rotherham a huge test, would take a draw now.

sorry we are not still in the cup but
what a distraction that would be from the league, our priority.
Six points from those three games would do.

Seriously though. If we don't lose to Rotherham, we'll likely still have it all in our own hands.

Our big one was normally whoever we played last match of the season where we usually needed to win to stay up.

And? Saying you will take a draw does not mean you are refusing a victory!

These promotion campaigns are bloody stressful. Already worrying about Saturday. I know I shouldn't be, but one of those games where you hit the post 9 times and they score with a deflection off the refs arse can happen.

Seriously though, the next 3 games are an opportunity for us to take top spot and put some distance between us and chasing pack. 7 points would be nice, 9 would be glorious. Why not?

Can they still score off the ref's arse? I thought they changed that rule? Anyone?
Not that they couldn't score because the Ref's an arse though

At 17 games remaining we needed 10 wins 5 draws to make 83 points

Now from 15 games we can get 8 or 9 wins and draw 2 or 5 to make 83

We can afford to drop points still

We never had a top of the table game in the top flight ever, our big games were relegation scraps and not really those two

Let's drop a couple at Southend so we don't have that excuse later on.

We flirted with it a couple of times. In 88/89 weren't we third in March? Fell away to 7th in the end. But yeah, point stands.

Maybe Godden to start. Hope we can take a comfortable 2 goal lead and give a couple of players a rest (I reckon Dabo, Kelly, Hyam, Rose, McFadz, Walsh & McCallum all deserve one)

Exactly. No matter what happens in these “huge tests”, someone always pops up saying it’s actually the next game that’s ‘season defining’, ‘life changing’ etc

They’re all the fucking same, you get 3 points for winning all of them, we just need to try and win them all & see where we end up, not make a special effort in particular games and have some kind of ridiculous doomsday countdown to any particular match.

Looking at Southend, they seem to have turned the corner a bit. Just one defeat in 5 at home, including a draw with Rotherham. Two of their 3 wins this season have come recently. Still, you'd like to think we'd go there and win the game. Don't like this talk of we can afford to lose points!

The last thing we need is to be back in the Prem, grovelling around like Watford or Villa. I'd rather be winning every week in League 1
