A FAMILY in Rugby escaped unhurt after a fire at their property early this morning. Firefighters were called at midnight to Bawnmore Road in Bilton where a shed and carport were on fire. Acting crew commander John Gregory, from Rugby fire station, said the sound of paint tins popping in the heat had woken the family He said there was “a good chance” the flames could have spread to the house itself. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
