Coventry City Owner and Executive Chairman Doug King has thanked Sky Blues fans for their support following the Play-Off Final – and said that work for the 2023/24 is well underway.

King is also encouraging local, national and international companies to work with Coventry City after the 2022/23 campaign reached its conclusion.

Over 36,000 City fans saw the Sky Blues just miss out on promotion to the Premier League after an exciting campaign full of great goals and moments.

Executive Chairman Doug King said:

“It has been such an exciting season, which unfortunately finished in penalty shoot-out defeat on Saturday.

“We will use that as fuel to continue to drive us on and to continue the progress that the Club is making. On Saturday, and in the build-up too, we could all see the pride that fans and the whole City feels in their Football Club and we want to capture that at the Coventry Building Society Arena, which is becoming a fortress for us.

“I’d like to take this chance to thank the fans for their support at Wembley and throughout the season.

“You helped drive us on throughout the campaign and I am sure you will do so again next season.

“Season Tickets will be available again shortly and fans will be able to secure their seat for what we hope will be another standout season.”

The new season will also see a new front of shirt sponsor with the Sky Blues deal with BoyleSports coming to an end after three seasons at the end of June, with the Club already engaged with a number of companies and actively encouraging other companies to get in touch.

Owner Doug King has re-affirmed his statement, given to a Supporters Forum meeting, that the Club will not be having any betting sponsors (excluding EFL obligations). This will also now include the removal of all betting kiosks within the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Following the conclusion of the season the Club is exploring new sponsorship opportunities with both existing and new partners, and would encourage local, national and international companies who are interested in working with us to get in touch!

King said:

“We are looking forward to working with new and existing partners as we look to grow the commercial revenues to support the performances on and off the field of Mark Robins and the team.

“We are in discussions with a number of companies already, but we would encourage businesses who want to take the fantastic opportunity to work with us to get in touch and be part of the journey and support us in taking this great club back to the Premier League.”

"...and would encourage local, national and international companies who are interested in working with us to get in touch!"

Sounds a bit desperate, especially with the ! at the end.

Glad about the rejection of betting kiosks and sponsorship. It is a cancer to the game and society.

Would love Coventry University or Coventry Building Society YST so we can have Coventry in big letters on the front. Would also accept the CU phoenix logo.

I see many business emails/statements with many different punctuation marks. Absolutely nothing unprofessional about it
