From our last league game, 6 of the starting Xl have left murph marshall chrisite callum delf & Prutton, 4 out of the 7 subs have left baker adams mcgeoch eccleston - you reap what you sew, churning so many players irrespective of quality is going to make it difficult.

They would be too expensive for league 2 after we get relegated this year.

Actually research the football side of the club and the rest of the teams in this league, then make a prediction. Tbh looks like Elvis experimenting with 5-3-2 cost us first half, second half we came into it playing 4-4-2, but our better players had been subbed by then.

How many games without scoring now?

We need 2 more quality strikers 1 in particular who is fantastic and just know he will get 20 plus goals. We need to break the bank of 200k on this higdon bloke and go for it. Isn't he an ex team mate if SP.

We need goals as we are still conceding. Simple really. He has got a week to produce a rabbit or 3 out of the hat else Bradford will thrash us.

Clarke, Wilson and Christie were all freebies or kids at one point in their career.

Scoring some goals and generally playing well means something, surely? If only just for a bit of confidence.

yet again you are straying away from the squad and over to SISU stop using them as an excuse to unfairly berate the team and manager, "anyone who expects anything other than relegation is an optimist" is the exact sort of thing someone would say who has not done any research on the other league teams and the current city squad, and really isn't in touch with this level of football

True. I'm not going to judge the whole season on this one result obviously. But ATM it seems we are lacking creativity and certainly goals. 3 games withot scoring now.

Not panicking as such bit something needs to happen in the next week or 2. A prolific goal scorer marquee signing would be awesome.

yes but some of these free agents are good players like Johnson and Pugh, just because they are free transfers doesn't make them bad players

2 goals in what, 4 pre season games? When Miller/Tudders don't score it's two 16 year old kids? Worrying even in pre season

Shouldn't we wait and see how players do before judging after a few league games? We can sit here all night and name both paid for and free players who were shite and paid for and free players who were good for us.

He did very well, but try answering the question I asked rather than asking another one. Yes I know we have done well in the free and loan market in the past, but again I ask, how well did it go last season?

You do realize several other teams in League one have done exactly the same? Also, do you honestly think free transfers cost nothing?

So were Pele,Beckham,Torres,Best,Ronaldo,Mezzi, in fact every player was a kid or free once....

And some like Gerrard, Giggs, Maldini,Totti have never cost a penny their whole careers......

because its a stupid question the players signed on frees last year were oddly enough different from the ones signed this year, had different backgrounds and records, differed in experience some were panic bought but the what your asking has no relevance to this current squad

So what you are actually trying to say but still trying to save face is that last season's free's were shit. Cannot see what is so hard about answering a simple question, but there you go. By the way, not sure how you can panic buy a free, how much do they cost?

I am not sure what point you are trying to prove though? Last season they weren't very good were they, they seemed to be rushed as they were pretty much unknowns (well Manset etc were)

Not trying to make any point, Jesus. Does everything on this forum have to have a sub plot. A simple question which you finally answered.

ok so what if last seasons frees were shit they WERE LAST SEASONS DIFFERENT PLAYERS WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND and also frees cost in wages but i think i was using more as an expression that we needed a backup striker so we signed manset even though SP wasn't to sure about him because of the need to have cover in the position

Although it would be a reasonable point not to expect too much.

Each season I expect relegation and that means that (mostly!) through my life, I have been pleasantly surprised!

2 shots on target against Newport, not exactly convincing is it, even pressleys admitted he's behind schedule with where the players should be, you can't expect to chuck a load of loans and kids together and expect to have a team, we'll start this season as we finished last season,

The link is Pressley signed them. His track record last season on signings was quite frankly shocking. Now that might be due to financial constraints placed on the club, but we have been successful in the free market before (which I admitted) so there is no reason why we can't again. I hope the players we have signed pull up trees and push us onto promotion, but you can only go on what you have seen before. Lets not forget we signed a PL player last season who most on here (not me) thought would be great at our level.

Pressley isnt stupid he isnt just chucking them together hes been more selective over signing ensuring they can play into his system during friendly he experimented which is what pre season is for so you can see how alternative tactics work. and the team doesn't have that many "kids" hes just trying to put through some of the youth from a good academy as Pressley is well known for, hes not running the team on kids
