Swanson

Will admit it, I forgot his name and had to look at the starting 11 to remind myself!! Was hoping it wouldn't be spotted before I got chance to edit but my phone went all slow

Seaborne, Lawton, Finch, Fleck, Phillips, Haynes, G. Thomas and Maddison all on at the start of the second half. Only Swanson, Allsop and Daniels remain from the first-half.

Maddison and Thomas against their centre backs is just ridiculous with the height difference!

Thomas gets played in in goal (along the floor) but takes too many touches and places it wide of goal

How would Messi and Sanchez get on against them? . Play it on the floor boys.

Worrying - but is Reda's first game - hope SP has the nous to adjust things to stop crosses coming in. Attacking their goal might help :sarcasm:

To be fair we're playing a formation we haven't played in years.....liverpool away in 2001.

Playing it a lot more on the floor which will work to Maddison and Thomas' strengths considering the CB height

It's supposed to be, but doesn't look like him. What's the name of that fella who's training with us? Might be him in disguise?

Another close chance for Newport. Great ball into the box, Burge not too convincing at coming for it, but header hits side netting (even if the Newport fans did think it had gone in hehe)

their crossing has been impressive for most of the game

Newport hit the post from a long range deflected shot. Couldn't have blamed Burge if it had gone in

I know fitness is the main purpose of these friendlies but I am concerned we seem to have very little flair, creativity, pace or genuine goal threat in the team. Hoping Coulibaly will give us some pace on the flanks but we still need a striker with pace, a big striker and possibly another winger.

Sounds like we created very little and looked dodgy at the back but don't worry its just pre season and if we can take our end of season form into the new season we should be !!! scrap that, we have the core of the squad left that ripped this league apart in the first half of the 2013/14 season Clarke wilso up front baker moose chrisite adams out wide with the ever reliable murph in goals !!! ok scrap that, SP works wonders in the transfer market his main 2 purchases from last year Seabourne & webster had a magnificent impact ensuring we had one of the most consistent defences in Div 3, we conceded 39 goals at home and matched it to 38 away.

There I knew there would be some comfort.
