Newcastle have got some good players, a new manager would wait to see what the existing players can do under him, and hopefully would get a new manager bounce anyway.

I don't think Armstrong is what they need. It's a new manager they need, And with one of them at the helm, the current squad should perform a lot better.

Also do worry that Armstrong isn't ready for premiership football so unlikely to get recalled just yet

Doubt he will get sacked as he is on the board there, they would be mad to take Armstrong back he is not ready yet and the pressure could wreck him.

Sounds like they need a defender rather than a young striker...

They're not going to throw a young striker in for their unforgiving fans I feel.

If Newcastle had even the slightest suspicion that AA was ready for the Prem he wouldn't be playing in L1.

Don't worry about Armstrong! I am more concerned that they will want TM

Apparently on BBC's Final Score some pundits were asking as to why Newcastle don't bring back Armstrong.

Our biggest obstacle with keeping AA is if a championship club look at him for a loan once our agreement is up. I feel that's a real danger as I can see championship clubs taking a chance on him being able to step up and I can see Newcastle wanting to see if he can make that step up. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see him staying on for the rest of the season.

My concern is Newcastle feed him to a championship team after Christmas to get him ready for their championship season next year

He wouldn't get in most championship teams. What's the point of sending him to the likes of Rotherham?

Top championship teams would never pick him.

I think that if McClaren gets the boot, that would be good news for City. A new manager would want to assess what was there before recalling youngsters. If McClaren survives, he may try more and more desperate measures to keep his job, and that could include giving Armstrong a try.

I am concerned that he will be farmed out to the Championship in January to hasten his development. If he is recalled he would have no choice but to go. This is the downside of getting a successful loan player.

He would have some input too wouldn't he? I think he'd wanna finish thr promotion job and win a medal. This is his team right now after all. He must be starting to feel the love for cov

Would like to think he would want to try and be the top scorer in the league.

I would think that they're championship club's eyeing him up already. He is the league one top scorer after all and a stat like that is always going to catch the eye of teams in the league above. The fact that he's only here until January means he'll be available and if you're a mid table team come Christmas with aspersion's on a play off place but you're a little lightweight in the goal scoring dept and the league one top scorer is going to be available in a few weeks on loan to the end of the season why wouldn't you be looking at him?

For Newcastle it's a no brainer also. As someone else has pointed out Newcastle are looking favourite's to be playing championship football next season so why wouldn't you test your young striker in that league if you have the opportunity?

Like I said. I hope I'm wrong but at the moment I can't see him staying here past his current agreement.

Exactly. There was no shortage of posters on here who were saying that he's a league one season wonder and wouldn't cut it in the championship. I wasn't one of them. Grendull, remind me were you? :thinking about:

What's the reason to test him? He could potentially score 30 goals this season. That would make his value massive, most championship clubs will not want an unproven striker at this level - Ashley will sell him if he probes worth it and that's more likely to happen here.

That said he could be sold in January I suppose.

Errr. To measure his progression. Or was that too obvious? 30 goals in one season certainly would increase his worth. Even more so if half of them came in the championship.

I hope I'm wrong and he's here all season. Just not seeing that possibility at this moment.

He fluked it last season in the championship. He won't score for toffee in the premier league.

Wilson is a lot older and will end the season scoring 5 goals in the premier league. His asset value is now plummeting.

Which is exactly my point

That is down to injury though in fairness. If he played or was dropped then your point would stand wouldn't it?

He's seriously injured you knob head and is likely to miss most if not all of the rest of the season. You've proved nothing. You do know that if he isn't able to fully recover from his injury it doesn't prove you right on anything?

The point is asset value abd risk of decline. If he stays here it will be similar to the guy Huddersfield sold for £9 million.

If he moved to a championship club he may struggle or may stay on the bench.

Ashley doesn't give a fuck about Newcastle, if he ends up record scorer in this league he will attract a fee and be sold. Same as Bournemouth now will forever regret not offloading Wilson even if circumstance is different.

Armstrong is not better than Cisse, Mitrovic or Ayoze Perez. Very much doubt he will be recalled.
