Lots of discussion regards the proposed new stadium mainly the possible location. It seems most if not all the surrounding local authorities deny any discussion about building any stadium in their area and now it looks like Nuneaton & Beduff have thrown a spanner in the works if you trust what their chief exec. said yesterday. Although that split arsed solicitor, or was the splitter from CBRE, said today there were THREE possible sites So what would happen if even should sisu find suitable land on the edge of Coventry like they say but the local councils and residents say no-way hoezay what do sisu do then ?

No just that they would be open to discuss the sale of their land. They said that they haven't heard from the Club, but felt it was natural that the Club might talk to the Council first.

Forget it. Nothing has happened.
Nuneation council stated quite clearly that they were approached months ago. They rejected the speculative ideas and have heard nothing from Sisu since.
The Telegraph - wanting to sell newspapers - made up a misleading headline = something out of nothing.
The owners of the land - seeing the reports - smelt a sale and have put a feeler out.
Sisu don't own the land. Have not bid for the land. Have no planning approval on the land.

Hawkesbury Golf Course Appeal decision

This is the appeal decision on the Hawkesbury Golf Course site. It was rejected for housing by the Secretary of State because it was in the green belt even though the Planning Inspector recommended it for approval. But Mr Pickles has suggested that it may be an appropriate site should there be a need to meet Housing Demand by building HOUSING in the green belt in the future. However, right now, the Secretary of State suggests there is no special circumstance that should allow housing on this site in the green belt.
So on that basis a football stadium with associated traffic and built at a greater height than housing, causing a bigger visual impact on the green belt is much less likely to get approval. Nuneaton and Bedworth Council are unlkely to want to lose a medium term housing site to non-housing use as this is going to pile even more pressure on them to find sites for housing in the green belt in future.

The local residents spokesperson said this morning on CWR that planning has already been refused for dwellings and other things for that site. I get the feeling the owners of the site are looking to sell because they could be saddled with it and are perhaps hawking it around. I live fairly near to it and I suggest those who don't know it go and see it for themselves. Unless millions is spent on new roads and I mean roads not a road there is no chance of any stadium going there BUT there is a lot of old derelict land to the right of the old golf course, behind the Greyhound pub at Sutton Stop were the the old gasworks use to be, but then again mega bucks would be needed for new roads and some fucker put two canals in the way.
