Why do people keep going on about Scotland & King?

Jason Scotland is nearly 34
Marlon King is nearly 33

Robins has already ruled out Scotland.
King comes with baggage that we don't want.

Both are too old & will be on a wage we can't compete with.

Madness I tell you.....

What you need is young hungry players, who aren't going to drain the clubs purse

King would be a handful in this league, probably better than McGoldrick who drew a blank again at Ipswich today by the way.

King could be without a club if he is not careful. If I was in his shoes almost any offer from Coventry would be a good one coming at this juncture of his career so when you say no chance becuase of his wage demands I'm not sure what reality you are living in?

Jake cassidy did well at tranmere and isnt impressing saunders so maybe a loan for him? King? No! League 1 is too good for him and we cudnt afford his wages. Earnshaw wud be ok. He only 31 and he wants to leave do wages cud be negotioable. Theres options out there

Don't agree with you at all.

He went to Brum for more money, do you seriously think the knob head will take a large pay cut to play for us even if he was wanted.

Paxman, you normally speak a lot of sense.

However not on this one.

King cock will have his pick of championship clubs and better wages than cov.

13 in 26 this season and nearly one in two for brum overall.

Goals dried up for him after the first few months, hardly scored in his last 10 games on loan

He seemed like a good finisher but needed the chances served up for him

How about Cody McDonald from Gillingham has a 100% scoring record for Gillingham this year

...I now see King played for Brum today and scored the winner. So I'm not sure what all this has been about really?
can't understand reports saying he has had his contract terminated becuase they want to save money when he is still in the side and scoring for them?

That changes what I previously said a bit. Yes still in the side and told he can leave is different. Would think a championship club would sieze the moment be for a reduction in his wage demands but still higher than what we could afford.

Surely Forest would be favourite?

Yea he is still under contract at Brum, he has been told to find himself another club as they no longer can afford him. He will have a host of champ clubs in for him I would imagine

Would not want king back under any circumstances. We revived his career and in return we get a promise to stay, a day or two before he moves off to one of our rivals for a bit more money. :jerkit:

We need to do something, the amount of chances we are creating is crazy. Could have scored 5 or 6 today if we had a half decent striker. I know Leon scored today, but as far as i'm concerned the jury is out on him at the moment.

Ya see Earnahaw would be fantastic with the amount of chances were creating, he would get an absolute hatfull in this league. Unfortunately though, we tried, brought him to a club to watch a match but couldn't afford his wages. Maybe this is what Robins is saying about people need to leave before he can bring his targets in

I was also thinking madine. not getting starts for shef wed, spec now they got lita. This is his level too, i think he'd be a top signing now ( wasn't a fan of him when he was with us before either)

Think O'Donovan needs to be off loaded, might have a chance then... What about David Bell another we should be looking to get rid of, even on loan.

Madines not a bad shout! Didnt really get a fair crack when here and has gone on to find the net for another club since then, doing it successfully.

I don't want to rule out McG, but he isn't coming back!

He's effectively their player now, he's agreed a 2 1/2 deal at the end of the season...

On a side note: serves you right McG for trying to be a smart fucker :jerkit:

Ipswich obviously do not rate him and would let him go I am sure.
We could raise the money bY off loading Bell or even McSheff(dropped v Preston)

Sheff was injured, MR confirmed it, no one wants him, he'll leave CCFC when his contract expires...

Bell, no one wants him, apparently Barnsley did before his injury, but he's been out for so long and Barnsley have changed manager, so no, he's staying put, unfortunately.

Ipswich obviously do rate him, he jus didn't start 1 game...

The last thing we want is hungry players. Eastwood was that hungry he became Fatwood.

MR confirmed it.

Elliott had a dead leg, they thought he was going to make it.
Sheff is taking injections for an Achilles problem (for rest of season), but had a hamstring strain.

... According to the one and only MR.

So what you saying SBT he should have signed for us for nothing !!!
He had a loan spell with us whilst forest paid his wages to put him in the shop window !!!
MCg didn't owe us anything if he owed anyone it would be forest who have paid his wages.

Can't believe Mcleish didn't give him a chance when he went back to Forest!! After all it was O'Driscoll who said he could look elsewhere, look at forest yesterday!! Earnshaw would be good in league 1 but don't think he could play upfront on his own and do the overall job MR wants his striker to do. Yes he will get goals no doubt but not much else. We only play 1 up front and think earsnshaw is more suited to 4-4-2

Quite clearly, I didn't say that.

As a Cov fan, I'd obviously say he should come to CCFC, and had we have signed him, we would be his wages, on the loan deal, we did Forest a favour taking him on because McG was going to 'showcase' himself, and in doing so, secured a move to ITFC.

I never said McG owes us anything, I'm just saying it serves him right.

It does appear McG has shit his career in the foot, again. Looks like Forest fans who said he was caught in the standard between L1 and Championship were right.

I've had a grudge v Ipswich since Roy Keane was their manager, so every year I want them to go down, if they down this year, it'll be like Christmas.

There are some very stupid comments in this thread regarding King and some on here appear to be Earmshaw's agent he is now a steamin pile of cack on high wages and has not done the business now for a number of seasons.

I agree with op we should not be looking at these players def not Earnshaw and King we have no chance with. If we did I would have King over Earnshaw or Scotland by a country mile!!

Think at our level though we should be looking at hungry players be they raw young recruits from lower divisions or someone on loan from higher div club who hasnot made it and is hungry to prove themself ala McGoldrick

Marlon king has scored 14 goals for brum this season.. There is not a cat in hells chance that he will come here. He is too good for league 1 and his wages are not worth even considering. Good player, would love it if he came back here but it is not going to happen. I can't even understand why people are linking him with us!!
