Is it similar to a landlord putting the rent up because a tenant gets a better paying job?

Although, you would think Frasers would get more exposure if we were in the PL and more benefits like F&B?

We all know it’s just a negotiating move, where the hell would we get the money to build a 40,000 capacity stadium ?

Doesn't Doug have links to Tony Bloom? Wonder if we will play at Brighton for the season when we are kicked out the stadium?

They'd have a box you'd have to fit into at every turnstile before you were allowed in. It would be enforced by Ryanair staff.

I'd be screwed, so might a few others here.

Whether or not it’s a negotiation strategy, it is objectively Very Funny that we’re back to the club proposing new stadiums at the Butts in order to pressure the owners of the CBS, only for the council to oppose it etc etc. Time truly is a flat circle.

Ah yes the council. Not the laws of physics and planning requirements. The evil council who hate GDP.

He clearly wanted to buy the existing stadium - someone very ITK stated that at the time

I’d imagine he still does. He’d be mad not to in fact I’d imagine his end goal is marry the club up to the stadium and sell for profit asap

I don’t think you needed ITK status to know that, just an internet connection!

The council: "this is not a conversation we need to be having again"

Uh ok - then why did you not sell the stadium to the football club, and actively try to shaft them.

Coventry City Council are a bunch of c**ts.

Im talking about Doug Kings thinkin. It was his prime motive in buying the club. It’s a very different situation to Sisu

Most were sceptical he had the funds at all and many said he was really some kind of antagonist acting on behalf of Sisu

Very few believed he actually wanted to buy the stadium at all but he ended up with the club and not the actual real estate he was after

I don’t see the issue here.

Why on earth would an owner show his hand to the public first?

No one does that

Course you don’t see the issue
You think there’s no point engaging in any discussion or thinking we as supporters have any say whatsoever
It’s a fair opinion I just disagree

Supporters can’t be privy to information that’s sensitive.

It’s odd because you seemed as a person to have a far more comfortable relationship with Seppalla who was a serial liar in the Trump mould.

What’s the idea that it was supposed to be a surprise? Hardly seems likely, if anything having it out there does the job of putting doubt into Ashley’s mind. It’s a total non starter though. A 40K ground at the Butts just isn’t a serious proposal. Like always we need them and they need us.

If he was prepared to purchase the Arena - which you clearly think he was - then of course he’s in a position to and clearly it’s not from his personal current account

It’s a matter of public record that King tried to buy the stadium himself, it’s not an ITK hunch.

My point is that if he really wanted to build a new stadium, he would be doing so by borrowing the cash, and I don’t know if he is much better equipped than SISU to do that. But also like SISU, I highly doubt it’s his intention anyway.

King better get negotiating with Ashley. No stadium of 40,000 goes from nothing to built in anything even closely resembling 3 years. Construction of that order would be mired in red tape for at least that time before any ground was broken

Why didn’t you quote my edited post? I’ve no idea if he’d borrow cash - he’d have had to borrow far more to fund the Arena cash flow.

He would have had to surely have security of £100m plus.

I mean if it’s a matter of public record then it’s surely public record William Storey was trying to buy the club as revealed by your journalist colleague Mr Gilbert

Trish Adudu on BBC CWR - Coventry City: William Storey still wants to buy Sky Blues - BBC Sounds

William Storey speaks to BBC CWR's Simon Gilbert about his desire to complete CCFC deal.
www.bbc.co.uk

I mean it’s here in black and white and on Google!

Coventry City: Energy drink company founder still wants to buy Sky Blues

The founder of an energy drink company still wants to buy Coventry City despite plans to sell a majority stake to businessman Doug King.
www.bbc.co.uk

I hate to break it you and shit stirring Simon but he hasn’t a pot to piss in has he? He wasn’t buying it despite it seems being on “public record”

King had the funds and was.

Im amazed as an award winning journalist of international recognition your sources didn’t differentiate

Guess that’s why it’s still the Basildon hey?
