Massive site. The old Courtaulds Engineering site. Not sure if anything is being built there yet but it is a similar footprint to the current stadium without car park c.

FF - it really wont come to this
At the end of the day both sides need each other

ACL without CCFC, do not just lose CCFC related revenues (which includes car parking, hospitality etc) but also other linked revenues
The casino will lose business (will they want to stay)
Conferences will lose prestige

SISU will need to get to a solution before next season ( and probably very soon) with the issue of selling season tickets etc

ccfc at the ricoh for many years to come

Would be hard for me to get there, as i live in Longford and dont have a car yet. I hope we stay at the Ricoh cus its close to me, can see it from my house. And even if we did build a new Stadium there, it would take years to construct, so i can see us staying here for at leats the next 5 years if we intend to build a new stadium. If we're gonna move to Nene Park, could be in 2 seasons

Good luck SISU getting planning permission for that. Because who is it they need to get that from again?... Oh yes the owners of the current stadium.

Rock...... City....... Hard place

Ha. Ironside. I would have to emigrate from Beduth if I shared your outlook. (I know, I know, six fingers jokes much appreciated).

In theory the council could be taken to court for "conflict of interest" if they blocked SISU from getting planning permission for a new ground in the city....but, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that it will ever come to that!

I agree of course. But it is a site worthy of a decent stadium.

It is what is behind it that would be attractive. Access a bit iffy anyway. Both Stoney Stanton Rd and Foleshill rd have access points. Ring roads at either end of Stoney Stanton Rd and also Foleshill/ Longford. May have to have a travelator for Liam as well. Sat nav would help.

Without knocking the the building down it would be a logistical nightmare. The council would immediately put parking restrictions in and parking would probably be worse than it is at the Ricoh.

Liam, I wouldn't fret. By the time the new stadium's built you'll have surely passed your test. Plus we'll be driving hover cars or riding unicorns around anyway.

We can find all the sites we like - but I'm struggling to see anything that would incentivise the City Council to grant planning permission for an alternative football stadium. Thus depriving them of Ricoh revenue? Or am I missing something???

Hold on. I thought ACL "didn't need" the football club. So why should they care?

No, that one is closer to Liam's home!

Foleshill Rd, Canal bridge, clock tower, look right, old building, behind there is an area that goes right back to Stoney Stanton Rd.

They might not (I don't believe that either)...but having wound the council up on the rent & rights issues - they could just do it to get their own back. After-all many involved in this embarrassing shambles appear to have behaved like spoilt kids so far lol

I'm sure this site must have been looked at when the original plans for a new CCFC stadium were being drawn up in the 90's. It looks ideal.
