Had an idea buzzing round my head for some time.

Now have done a very rough demo. Work in progress for sure, but wondered what people thought.

Just cobbled together a rough Youtube vid to go with it too.

Please be gentle.

It's all me unfortunately.

The 'demo' is that I did it on a cheap keyboard on a cheap 8 track recorder.

Excellent effort Otis! Very catchy and easy to remember the words! I think when you're happy with it you should approach the club to get it played at a home game...you get the fans singing along and behind it and you're well on the way to becoming part of Sky Blue history

Cheers.

My remit was to create something punchy and catchy and something that could be chanted from the stands too.

Was trying to create something where we could have two banks of supporters ( a la 'Celtic' 'Rangers' of old) where one group would chant 'We're Sky, we're Blue, We're City through and through' while the other group just come in with the 'Sky' and 'Blue' inbetween.

Sent it to CWR. Will maybe contact the club. Would need doing again properly though.

Wanted to gauge fans' responses on here first though.

Absolutely brilliant, well impressed!!!

'Unbelievable teckers' as soccer am would say.

One thing is for sure, we really have to get rid of that awfully outdated "Tottenham or Chelsea" rubbish. Just makes me cringe now!! Still sing it to show my support tho but it just isn't relevant anymore.

If you have an iPad or iPhone you should get the GarageBand app,
iPad's better purely because its bigger and easier to use.
It's a fantastic app for making music!!

Nice one Otis! :claping hands:The next Steve Taylor maybe?
I could play it on my hospital radio show, but unfortunately the only people who would hear it are from the Isle of Wight, and majority of them are Pompey or Southampton fans!
Still, I could give it a blast anyway!!

Cheers.

And Steve Taylor? I see myself as more of an Elizabeth Taylor to be honest.

Otis...how does this fit with changing the image? If we are to get rid of the insipid Sky Blue from the 60's era (which we looked poor in at Arsenal) we'll need another song!

Hardly.

think one criticism of the song has been that it is a bit 'jingly jangly' and repetitive. The repetitiveness was deliberate just to get the song out there for an instant impact. It wouldn't be as repetitive at all when done properly.

The sound I am not too happy with either. Was aiming for The Ramones with a fuzz guitar sound, but it came out rather crappy 70's synthy.

Did the whole thing on quite a cheap keyboard. Used to play guitar but had that nicked so have tried to get guitar sounds from the keyboard. It's fine for strings and piano, but not so good on harder sounds, so it's nowhere near where I would ideally like it to be, but it was just a case of getting it out into the public domain.

Want to do it again properly and there is another bit to the song too which will make it even less repetitive.

As I say, the object was just to get it into people's consciousness and I was also trying to create something that could be sung from the terraces. If people can recall the old days when one group of fans who would chant 'Rangers' while another would chant 'Celtic' in response, then that was what I was trying to achieve. One bank of supporters chanting "We're Sky, We're Blue, We're City through and through," with another bank coming in with "Sky" and "Blue" in response.

We certainly do need more songs from the stands for sure, cos it is all getting a little stale.

To the Tottenham slower version....
"Oh when Robins, Oh when Robins,
Goes marching in, Goes marching in,
When Mark Robins goes marching in,
He scores the goal to keep Fergie working,
When Robins goes marching in"
