If he's not fit and had no pre-season then this would not be a coup at all. Disappointing would be an understatement! Would rather have Jason Roberts over McFag any day of the week.

Could be a load of bollocks.

Reading further down that page I'd say 'bollocks' is an understatement. A new word should be invented for that website and its rumours.

I read down to the part where it said we were in the running for Joey Barton then quickly clicked 'X'.

Been at work all day ! So I don't have to read 13 topics and it take me 3 hours can someone summarise what's happened today with Cov please, Le Fondre is it back on ? Another player coming in ? We were skint when I left for work this morning !

More chance of signing Dick Barton than Joey Barton - one for the older posters

We have been skint for a lot of years now, just like most teams. It depends on who gambles the most to make it to the promised land.

Basically Rotherham board have said us and Sheff Wed are in talks with Le Fondre and they expect him gone by Saturday and now we're rumoured with McFadden.

I'd take McFadden any day of the week and I wouldn't risk losing him for nothing by giving him a bloody pay as you play deal. I'd gamble and give him a two year deal. We won't even sign him though

That is someone having a dig at the club because we signed Marlon King basically saying we have a history of signing criminals so linked Barton with us as a joke.

It wasn't a serious rumour just someone having a pop at our club.

For all the money Fester have spent on players I only rate a couple of their signings. Saying that, it only takes a couple of good signings to make an average team a good team.

Schmeichal
Danns
ST Ledger
Mills
Nugent
Konchesky
Pantsil
Michael Johnson
I would say Schmeichal, Danns, St Ledger, Mills and Johnson were good signings. Nugent isn't better than what they had last year in Yakubu and I don't really rate the other 2. Still they have lost players from last year in Yakubu and Naughton returning from there loans so I would say even though they have signed a lot of players there squad is of similar or only slightly better quality compared to last season.

If my team would have spent as much as they have in signing and wages I would have hoped for better.

I think Andy Thorn would have done a much better job in the transfer market with that money.

I agree I don't think they are worth as much as there transfer fee's or wages show but they are still at this level very good proven championship players.

That is an outrageous claim, Thorn's only signed two goalkeepers for the club and we're not sure whether it will be good or bad business. Leicester have a mixture of decent to good signings which anyone not trying to look at them with Sky Blue glasses would see.

Also I don't get the pessimism around James McFadden a few years ago he was one of Scotland's best players and has been continually played out of his favoured position which is behind the striker(s). If we were to sign him he would be the most talented player we've had since the Premier League days, but that is largely my opinion and the injuries would be a major worry.

We have signed two keepers for free. Given cash to spend things would have been different.

McFadden is undoubtedly talented, but he's injury prone and lazy.

We'll take him!

dojer, are you forgetting that Thorn was scout when we signed Dann, Fox, Gunnar and Westwood? As well as when we loaned Henderson and tried to buy him and Caroll?...

He can spot upcoming talent as well as anyone. I don't think that's debatable.

Andy Thorn has a good track record in scouting players, I am sure given money he could have got more worth than Leicester have. Sven has this policy in the transfer market See it-Want it-Buy it and will pay over the odds in transfer fee and wages if needs be.

I agree on Mcfadden, this front 3 would be deadly if we could keep them all fit. Creativity and technique in Mcfadden, goalscorers instinct in Fondre, workrate, strength and desire in Juke.
---------Mcfadden

I think I am getting ahead of myself

I'm bracing myself for McF's agent to make this public and Leicester to come in and steal him from us

With a front 3 of Mcfadden just behind Juke and Le Fondre IMO that would be the best attacking force we've had since we came down. We can dream aye?

Surprised by the number of people believing this rumour, sounds a bit far fetched to me? Has this all come from one guy posting it on a few different forums?

Possibly but I think we all need something to cling on to. Anything.

I think as said before people want something to cling on to personally it doesn't change the lack of midfield options however would help up front.
