Sorry if there is some glaringly obvious reason why we cannot do it but...

Why do we wait for people to apply for the job. Is there any reason why the club cannot approach potential managers. I am not talking about guys in a job, but someone out of work.

We will never know if Nigel Adkins or Kenny Dalgleish would be interested if we don't ask. At the end of the day they would almost definitely say no, but so what. If it's a 1 in a thousand chance they would say yes, what have we got to loose.

I used to be a Recruitment Consultant, give me King Kenny's number, I'll call him now

I'm sure they will think of this if they feel there is a candidate that they want that hasn't applied. Even if they're in a job (although the compensation thing would probably be an issue).

We approached Boothroyd, so we know that once in a blue moon they can approach managers but it's probably just easier for them to let people apply themselves

Because that would make them feel wanted and they would demand a decent wage rather than just a pot to piss in

Having to pay compensation is the reason we probably won't poach another clubs manager.
